Prologue

Seating in one of the tables of a known five star restaurant isn’t new to me, being present in the beauty of the city lights, high end scenery and accomodating waiters didn’t even bother me.

Being a daughter of Millionaire Tycoons has it’s own perks and this luxury, having dinner with this such expensive place, doting waiters for our every needs, the presence of my glamorous mom and well known business tycoon dad, it’s always been my normal night, except this time

“Abitha this is Ezekiah, He is the son of Mr. Abram and Mrs. Eve Carson, You have meet them before right?” my mom with all her sweet but elegant smile introduced the man infront of me.

I’m in daze but i’m not shocked, i’ve been told about this, i knew that this time would come, but still seeing this man’s face in personal, his pictures that have been showed to me wouldn’t justify how handsome this man is, He looked arrogant and authoritative, He seems like a character pulled out from a book, and as a reader of every book genres, i can really say, those descriptions isn’t just impossible! because there’s one existing, this man is existing!

“Abitha?” my mom woke me up from my thoughts, they were all looking at me, i smiled akwardly after that, i was in daze, deep in thoughts that i was unintentional looking at him

I cleared my throat, composing myself, “Hello i’m Abitha Dionne Figurua nice to meet you Mr. Carson” i stood up and extended my hands, he accepted it, making me feel his manly hands.

“Likewise Ms. Figurua” He answered briefly, after that i can see my parents contented smiles the same with his. It didn’t take long enough and we started eating, waiters presented different foods, of course being known elites and eating here, we are well served and treated.

“I’m really happy that Mr. Figurua accepted my husband’s deal, it would be really the best for our companies” Mrs. Carson stated as we all eat

“It’s for the best and of course me and my wife have always known you, our great business investors and as our friends too” My father answered

They are now talking about business, i was silently eating the same with Ezekiah. I would steal some glances of him as we eat, I don’t know if he’s really into this but i don’t see any disagreements from him, his face was indifferent, his eyes held mystery that he was hard to read. My stealing glances was caught when i met his eyes making me cough a bit, avoiding his gaze.

“My son here is now in his last year for business management, he will then continue for his MBA, and after that i hope we can held the wedding, two years from now, Abitha will be in legal age right?” Mr Carson said making me pause

“Yes, three months after her debut will be the wedding, i’m very excited for that” my mom said in glee

i couldn’t say anything for that, Mom and Dad didn’t keep in the dark, all this years they already told me that in business, love is a luxury that sometimes couldn’t be obtained, the Company’s Best is the priority, to stay on top there will always be sacrifices, and this would be my sacrifice, and i wouldn’t dare complain, my eldest brother Kuya Devon married at the age of 21 for this cause too, My brother Kuya Dennis, i think is the same age of Ezekiah already had his fiancé and will be wed around this time of the year and now i have one too. And i have to suck this up.

“What can you say about the plan son?” Mr Cason pat his son’s shoulder.

“It’s alright with me” he said seriously looking at me in the eyes, making me gulped

“And you Abitha?” Mrs. Carson smilingly asked me

I tried my best to give them a smile, “o-of course” i wanted to curse myself for stuttering.

“Abitha here, my daughter already agreed to this, and of course she already have chosen the theme for the wedding” Mommy happily stated

“Really? so what do you want hija?” Mrs. Carson asked

“Just a simple intimate one, A garden wedding” i said, almost like a whisper

Her forehead creased, “You don’t want something elegant darling? we can arrange that for you” She said sweetly

I shaked my head slowly, showing her that i have already decided. My mom laugh “I’ve been trying to change her mind but it seems that she didn’t really want it” Mommy sighed “And she really asked me to do it as her favor, but you hijo?” Mom looked at Ezekiah

“If that’s what’s she wants then i’m okay with it, madàme” He answered

“Oh hijo, you can call me Mom from now on, you’re already my daughter’s fiancé” Mommy said

“The same with you Abitha, you can already call me mom, i’ve always wanted a daughter” Mrs. Carson Said, and held my hands on the table and smiled “I have only Ezekiah, and now you will be my daughter in law, i’m very excited”

all i answered was a smile.

“The hell! you’re only sixteen! we are only sixteen!, we didn’t even ever had got into a wild party! bar hopping or any teens would have been enjoying and now your going to be married?!” Cassidy hysterically said after i told her that i have a fiancé

“hush! don’t be so loud!” i scold her, we are only left here in our classroom Grade 11 ABM, our last period is free since we have faculties meeting, 15 minutes before dismissal. I told her everything and now she wanted me to rebuke my parents decision for me “And it’s two years from now, i’m still underage, stop overthinking!”

“Girl! ang bata mo pa! like, imagine your going to be stuck in a marriage for convenience, at the age of Eighteen, you’ll be held in a responsibility! wifely duties!” She ranted

I sighed “Cassidy it’s already planned, and i already agreed, i wouldn’t dare back off if i don’t want to embarrass my parents and our name” i explained and continued what i’m doing which is answering my assignments, which i can do at home but i’m planning to read a new series later so i’m doing my homework now.

She sighed, it was a long minute of silence, i’ve done doing my homework when she spoke again “What’s his physical appearance? is he handsome? just moderate? what’s his character, attitude? does he even have anything fit for you standards Abitha?” She knew i have a high standards, she’s really into challenging my decision

I sighed and open my phone to show her Ezekiah’s picture, i have his photo since before i met him personally Mommy sent me a picture of him telling me he will be my fiancé.

“Shet” after her remarks she left speechless

“So?”

“Is he some kind of a model? actor?” Her eyes were wide, then she suddenly looked at me with questioning look “You agreed because he is handsome didn’t you?” she asked me with all malice in her voice

“Of course not! i already agreed before i met him!” i said defensively

“mamatay?” She teased

“Kahit pa hindi ka na mag ka jowa” i smirked

We were teasing each other when the bell rings, we both stood up and brought our things with us, we were both walking to the gate since our drivers will fetch us there.

“Let’s have a sleepover this weekend, the season four of our favorite anime will be aired, let’s watch together, then well have our own beauty night, will apply mask and do some nails!” Cassidy hop excitedly as she tells me all her plan, Once a month we have sleepovers, sometimes with hers or mine, our parents would let us since we are just in one village.

“Sure Cassidy, just make sure-“ i didn’t finish what i wanted to say when a unfamiliar car stopped infront of us

I couldn’t react when the driver pulled down the window of that BMW.

“Abitha” three syllables, one word and it’s just my name but his baritone voice made it something unexplainable.

“M-Mr. Carson?” i asked confused, what is he doing here? Why is he here in the first place?

“I’m here to fetch you”
