Chapter 11: OUR HEARTS FEEL THE PROMISE OF LOVE

I saw her face blushing she would have said something.

Knock... knock...

Suddenly there was a knock on the door again and it suddenly opened. "Lily, are you done? it was her mother who came in."

"Yes mom, I'm almost done." she turned around and took the tray and give it to me.

"Thank you, Alex, wait for me outside she said bewildered."

"Okay, I'll wait for your answer I whispered and I turned around."

When I came out of her room, I went straight to the back of the house. very nice arrangement of her birthday, on the long table near the wall there are dishes lying on the table and at the other end are gifts for the giveaway and his three-layer cake is still in the cake box was in the corner with a separate table.

I was astonished to the gorgeous arrangements, when Someone tapped my shoulder, I turned my head to see the face of my mother, she looks worried.

"Son where have you been? I keep on looking at you."

"Sorry mom, I was inside of lily's room,"

"How's your feeling now?"

"I'm feeling better now, I'm doing well, you don't have to worry about me."

"I'm no longer sick." He added.

"Alright, come with me let's go and eat so you will drink your medicine." His mother turned around, going inside the house, Alex obediently follows his mother.

Soon the guests finally arrived. I saw Lily busy talking to her classmates and friends. Not long after the party started. There's a clown to entertain the kids. there's a magic show also. And games.

 Everyone is enjoying the party until the time arrives to sing the happy birthday song, for the birthday celebrant to make a wish and blow the candle.

Lily was wearing a white gown and a small tiara on her head, She was standing Infront of her three-layer cake it's decorated like a castle and there's a princes statue on the top.

It's almost seven in the evening when the party is over everyone went home.

my mother and I were the only ones who left lily's house. we were about to leave and reached the gate when Lily called me.

"Alex...Alex...I heard her calling my name.

I  stop and turned around while my mother was walking continually, her steps were slow maybe she's giving me and Lily a space to talk, Lily was running towards me, she's gasping when she reached and standing Infront of me,

I was dumbfounded when she suddenly embraced me and says "thank you, I promise to take care of that heart and promise one day we will put them together she said."

And  I gave her my little finger for a pinky promise and we sealed it with our thumb.

"Promise! we uttered together and we smiled. At a young age, our hearts feel the promise of love." and we hugged again and parted,

After five minutes of walk, we arrived home. But not too far in our house there's a two black Toyota Camry parked. Suddenly someone came out, he was wearing a black suit. he walked towards us. when he was close. I looked closely at what he was wearing.

He was Dress up in a solid black suit and tie to look like a special agent from the Men In Black (MIB) movie.

I found it out funny instead of getting scared. And I saw two men following him that's the time I got scared and hold my mother's arm.

"Mom, I called with a trembling voice."

"Don't be scared son, we didn't do wrong to anyone. my mother consoled me, I know that she can feel that I'm scared. she put her arms on my shoulder and pulled me closer to her. Just a mother protecting her child from harm.

"Good evening madam, we are here to fetch you  and your son, the man said."

"But why? Who are you? who send you here? My mom asked one after the other with a  confusion in my mother's face, she's looking at the man standing in front of us."

"My apologies for not introducing myself I'm Alan. the personal assistant of  Mr Daniel Romano. We are here to fetch you."

My mother was shocked, "Da. Daniel, I heard her stammered and she asked. where is Daniel?"

I was listening only to their conversation about my father, "where is he? Does it mean my father was still alive, Because what I understand he wants me and my mother to meet him? He sent this person to fetch them, to bring us to him. he felt excited and nervous.
