Chapter 7: LONE OFFSPRING OF HER PARENTS My overall advantage is that we are constantly together. When there is no school or we go to school we are always together and even when we're going home.  When it's a holiday and we're not going to school, I'll come with her to Lilly's house. the only difference is that we sleep in different houses. Lily is the lone offspring of her parents,  her mother was a professor in our school and her father was a government employee. Ever since my mother works to their house  I have constantly been lily's playmate, I constantly assist her with her assignment since she starts studying,  I'm constantly assisting her with her study even making her projects in school, I never felt that she was my younger sister. because at a young age I retain a unique emotion towards her.  and I even vowed that when we grow up I will marry her. she will be my wife she is the sole queen of my palace. That's my promise to myself and her. "Alex on Saturday will be my birthday I am ten years old and there will be a party, I'm inviting all of my classmates." I can see how excited she is, while she's talking to me, regarding her coming birthday party. I can see the happiness on her face as she said to me this. While we're on way home from school. "That is after tomorrow," I uttered. "Is that how? she asked." "Yes, I nodded, because today is Thursday." She giggled, as she turned around and step backwards. I can see her eyes glittering because of her excitement. "Be careful you might fall, I remind her." While I'm following her. "It will never happen, because you're watching at me and for sure you will not let me fall, she extends her hand towards me. wanting to grab her hand." And I do what she's asking, I was holding her hand while she continues walking backwards. It was me and only her, way back home because her mother still in school there's an emergency meeting for all teachers. So her mother told us to go back home without her, because of the urgent meeting. "By the way, what is your gift to me she asked?" "Secret, it's not a surprise anymore if I will tell you." She pouted her lips, "hmmm... how about I will guess?" While she's putting her pointed finger on her temple, she feigned to foresee my gift to her. "Give me a clue? She asked." I pouted my lips before Answered her and give a hint. "Hmm, okay, this is something you promise me you will keep and do not lose it." "Can I write about it?" "No!" "I can wear it?" "Yes!" "Is it a dress?" "No!" "It's a ring?" I shrugged in response as I pouted my lips. "it's a ring?" She shouted. "No..." "Then what is it?" "Secret, as I've told you earlier it wouldn't be a surprise anymore if I will tell you. Just be patient after tomorrow will be your birthday, isn't it it's more exciting if you wait for your birthday and you will receive my birthday gift to you. He patiently explained to her. Because he can see the impatient on her gesture at the moment, because now. I saw Lily's face full of disappointment, as she stamped her feet in annoyance. because she could not predict it. She turned around swayed my hand in the air, walked seriously. I was enjoying staring at her actions she's so cute. But on her midway and turned back to me, as I'm following her. Abruptly she smirked and tell that whatever it is. she promised that she would keep it and would not let it take off. if she merely can wear it every day she will never remove it. I was very glad about what she said. if I could only hug her tight right there and then, I already did, but I need to restrain myself, I'm scared she might misunderstand it and might cause big trouble to me. the following day I did not go to school because I'm not feeling well, I had a cold so my mother went to the house of the de la Cruz family and told them that she can't get to work because I'm sick. and my mother had to take care of me. In the afternoon, Knock....knock... Alex... Alex... I heard somebody was calling my name while knocking the door. I got up and saw my mother recumbent on the other bed. I did not wake her up, because I understood she was sleepless in a previous night watching over and taking care of me all evening. So I slowly walk out of the room, avoiding to make noise for my mother not to wake up.
