ELLA P.O.V Tears gushed down my cheeks as I rushed to Lora's apartment to find her. I banged on the door, my fist pounding harder as I didn't want to go home to my father's house. *How could Jayce betray my trust with Janet? Since when did he know her?* My heart ached, and I pounded once more, but there was no response at the door. "Hello, Lora, where are you?" I pulled out my phone to call her. My voice choked with sobs. The sound of music reverberated in my eardrums, and I sensed that Lora was either at the clubhouse or at a party to celebrate our final exam. "Where else could I be? I am at the club. What happened? Why do you sound tearful?" she asked, her voice coated with concern for me. "Lora, send me the club address. I'm coming over there now." I ended the call and dashed out of the student's lodge, and I went back to the roadside to flag down a taxi. I couldn't even see around me, as my eyes were filled with tears. It hurt so much. How could one move on from such a betrayal? As I waited by the roadside to flag a taxi, I spotted Jayce's car drive by me, and my brows furrowed, wondering why he had come over to Lora's apartment to see her. *Did Jayce find out that I was at his home?* My phone rang, and I had hoped that Lora was the one calling me, but it was Jayce. Ignoring Jayce's call, I swiftly got into a cab before he could find me. Ruben must have been the one who told Jayce that I was there. I hadn't waited to explain to Ruben. After all, he had tried to woo me once, telling me that I was single and not yet married to Jayce. So he deserved a right to chase after me. I had smacked Ruben on his left cheek, furious at his audacity to ask me out on a date at Jayce's residence. I didn't inform Jayce because I hadn't wanted him to fight with Ruben over me. Ruben only smirked at me and said, "Your boyfriend isn't worth putting up this show. I am only trying to help you." "Just keep away from me. I will never date you even if Jayce and I were to break up!" I yelled at Ruben and avoided greeting him since then. He didn't chase after me again. But I was certain he would be laughing at me now when he saw me hurrying out of the apartment, broken and in tears. Ruben must have been aware that Jayce was cheating on me with Janet. Jayce had brought Janet to his apartment on countless occasions that I wasn't aware of. *What a fool he thought of me.* My fist clenched as I saw the club's address that Lora sent to me. Lora: Meet me at Royal's Blue Club. Me: Alright. I quickly settled my fare and climbed out of the cab as soon as the driver pulled up at Royal's Blue Club. I held my phone and placed a call to Lora to come meet me outside of the club. I felt too disoriented, and I didn't want to step into the club, knowing how vulnerable I was. "Hello, Lora. I'm at the club now. Can you come over to pick me up?" I informed her. "Right. Give me a moment," Lora responded, sounding drunk, and I waited for her to show up. My phone rang with frequent calls from Jayce. But I clicked on his contact and blocked him. How dare he call me after cheating on me with my half-sister? What did he take me for? A fool? My fist tightened around my phone as I couldn't believe Jayce was so shameless and arrogant to take me as an i***t. *Was it because I told him we should wait until our wedding night to have s*x? Was that why he cheated on me because he couldn't wait? Why then does he want me back? Was it to take my virginity and still break up with me?* The thought of keeping my virginity until my wedding might now repulse me, as I felt betrayed by Jayce's action. I thought there was no point in keeping my virginity anymore. My boyfriend, who I wanted to give it to, already cheated on me. So why can't I do that? "There you are!" Lora's drunken voice drew my attention, and I turned to face her, seeing her staggering in her green dress to meet me. "Lora, what the hell? You are so drunk," I stated, catching her before she would drop to the ground. "I'm not drunk. I can still see you, and I can see around. What's wrong? You sounded teary on the phone. Come on, let's go inside. It's not safe to stand out here," Lora said, her hand reaching for mine, and she dragged me back into the club. Despite her drunken state, I couldn't believe that Lora still desired to drink more bottles. The heavy smell of alcohol filled the air along with tobacco, and I pinched my nostrils, knowing that it was wrong of me to come to this place. "Come on, Ella. The music is soothing," Lora said, pulling me to find a seat as she swayed to the sound of the jam playing. I was sad, but seeing Lora's happy moments, I didn't know how to react. She was right. I should put my problem away and enjoy the night. We ought to celebrate after graduating from college. Lora's family were rich and powerful, but they didn't stop her from living the life that she wanted. But she kept a low profile, and became my best friend. She didn't want the media attention, the show-off, or that she was from the wealthy Abram family. I wished I had a family like hers, who weren't backstabbers or wishing I shouldn't exist, as they dreaded I wanted to take over my father's company. "Here, drink some. Tell me, what happened? Why did you look so sad? Did you catch Jayce cheating on you?" Lora pressed as she poured a fresh bottle of wine for me. I picked it up and took a sip as I nodded. "Yes. Guess who I caught Jayce cheating on me with?" I asked her, my voice choked with sobs as the memories still stung. I could still picture Janet riding and bouncing her waist off Jayce's cọck. "Who? I have no idea. Wait a minute, don't tell me it's Margret Tyson," Lora said, her fist clenching. Yeah, I knew Margret was my nemesis. She always bullied me, laughed at me, and mocked me because she felt threatened by my beauty. Unfortunately, I wasn't competing with Margret. I tried to avoid her, but she was impossible to ignore. Always doing things to grab my attention and challenging me in the class. "No. Not Margret. She didn't know Jayce." "Says who? Margret knows him. Then if not her, who?" Lora pressed, and I drank the whole glass of wine, chugging it down in one gulp as I felt the alcohol burn my throat. "It's Janet." "What? That hoe? Where could she have met Jayce?" Lora pressed, and I shook my head, not knowing.
