ELLA P.O.V It was my final examination day at college, and I had just finished studying business management. After wrapping up my final paper, I thought I would give my boyfriend, Jayce Johnson, a call, but unfortunately, his number wasn't going through. Jayce worked at Declan Group, and I had hoped to work there too, to join him, as he had been my only support. Seeing that Jayce wasn't answering my phone, I walked up the road to hail a cab when my best friend, Lora Abram, called to my attention. "Ella, are you leaving already? Wait, we want to do a sign out and take photos!" she called to me, but I froze and stared back at her. I wanted to visit Jayce. He would have closed from his shift at the office since he closed at 4 p.m. The exam had already ended by 4:30 p.m. "I'm sorry, Lora. I cannot wait for the sign out celebration. I want to visit Jayce. I ought to celebrate with him since he has been my only support. You know the family I come from," I told Lora. She was aware of how my family treated me. I was an illegitimate child. My father had me out of wedlock, so his wife treated me poorly. She favoured her own daughter, Janet, and her son, Daniel. Janet was 22 years old, and Daniel was 20. Though I was 25. "Alright. I won't stop you," Lora said at last, and I rushed back to hug her once more. She was sporting a long red dress and black shoes. She was fair-skinned, with my slender build. I stood tall and slender. I was fair-skinned too, with long blonde hair and emerald green eyes. "Take care, Lora. We will see each other during our internship. Don't forget, I'm applying at Declan's Group," I told her as I pulled away from the hug. "I will apply there too. Let's hope they accept me," she replied, giving me a reassuring pat. I quickly rushed out of the campus premises, as I hurried to find a cab. Once I got onto the rear seat as other passengers filled the seats, I instructed the driver on my destination, and he dropped me off while I settled my fare. I steadied myself and pulled out my phone to check for any missed calls. Unfortunately, Jayce didn't call. My heart twisted, but I pushed the hurt away. I walked up to the apartment where Jayce lived. He had asked me to move in with him, but since we were not yet married, I didn't want to leave my father's house. Drawing a deep breath, I knocked on the door, but no one responded. I had already spotted Jayce's black car at the parking lot. I knocked again, but the door remained silent. I turned the knob and saw the door wasn't locked from within. I gently pushed the door open and was about to call Jayce when I heard the loud groans and moans flowing out of the bedroom.
