“Or another whole herd?” Cloud laughed.
“Or another whole herd,” she agreed. “She’s a woman of extremes. Sometimes I worry about her being out with all her money and no one to watch her.”
They laughed. Darlene wondered if Joan had told Andy and Cloud how much she had. Hopefully not, but even if she had, she had the feeling that these two women could be trusted.
“They said they’d be right back, but Andy has never come right back.”
“Joan doesn’t wear a watch, and never consults her phone for the time. I’m not sure she ever knows the time.”
