9 months later

I gave birth to a cute little Micheal, whom I named Jake Micheal, just as my husband had asked of me. And he grew to become the perfect embodiment of Micheal. Whenever I see my boy, I see my husband in him.

When he was 18, I got to tell him everything he needed to know about his dad. We wept profusely through that night. I watched him grow to become an adult, together with Mubarak, who has been there for me at all times. I let Jake decide on his choice and he chose to keep the pendant with him.

Jake's POV: And that's what happened to me, Mary. I guess it's much more miserable than you thought it would be. I'm sorry, there are times we don't get to decide how we want things to turn out. My dad had only wanted to feel loved, and it cost him his life.

I felt her head on my shoulder, her arms rubbing my back, and she told me it's going to be okay.
