Chapter 6 I awoke from a dream of free falling and felt myself bounce around inside a moving box with a steel lid. My landing was abrupt and soft, a plushly carpeted steel box then. The trunk of a car, and a big one if someone had managed to stuff me into it. A Cadillac, maybe, or a Crown Vic. Another bump bounced me, and something beside me tipped over and bounced against my head. Something that felt like ribbed steel. A birdcage. Trouble squawked his irritation a moment later, confirming my suspicions. “Here comes trouble!” He screeched, told me to f**k myself. Laughter from the cab. I suppose it was pretty funny.
