Chapter 7 I fell forward against the Lincoln’s passenger door, then stumbled sideways when I tried to push myself upright again. My head throbbed like a bass drum. There was a whisper of wind against my left ear as something passed within an inch of it and a crunch, the sound of a fleshy impact against metal. The big car rocked with the impact. “f**k,” from behind me; Musclehead’s reasonable reaction to punching a Lincoln Town Car. “f**k!” Trouble squawked in fervent agreement. My bell was still ringing too loudly to log an opinion, but my equilibrium was coming back.
