Lucky:

1456 Words

Lucky: Gray. The best Jinx could describe the place where he woke was gray. He glanced down at the clothes he wore. They were gray. The floor he stood on was gray. He stood at the end of a line that stretched on as far as he could see, and everyone in that line wore the same gray clothing. Jinx wanted to talk. However, he recognized it would not be wise to speak. The questions in his mind would have to wait. For now, he tried to remember what happened before… He couldn’t remember anything except his name, Jinx. What a strange name. Who would name their child such a thing? It must be a nickname. But why stick with that name? He leaned to the right, trying to see the end of the line. As far as Jinx knew, it went on without end, forever. He stepped out of line and walked toward the front.
