The Mines:
Jinx, Adriana, and Lucky were on their own again. Sha’non ran away as soon as they had encountered the dragon. Jinx understood most people sucked, he’d only hoped to find more reliable individuals than any from his village. He hated to find his opinion of human beings reinforced at every turn.
Except for Adriana, even though she shot him with a bolt—which if he’d not been cursed might’ve killed him. She never wavered in her quest. Jinx wasn’t even sure if her crusade was justified. It sounded like she held little proof concerning the loss of her shop. It mattered little, because Adriana became fixated, and in her mind the cult was guilty. So she would do whatever she must to destroy them. It was Jinx’s fault if he tagged along.
