Chapter 3: Pigritia

Richard was sat in front of the fire with a tankard of beer. He watched the flames and sighed, he didn’t even feel like drinking at the moment. He knew that his Mate was desperately trying to find a way out of the prison he created. But he couldn’t lose her again. Unbeknownst to Jamie, Richard and Eric had made a pact. If either one of them was captured, the other would make sure Jamie would be kept safe and not be involved in the rescue attempt. “Richard, how are you doing mate?” Edward said as he walked in with a tankard, he was sat in a seat opposite his Alpha. “Not good, she said she hated me and Amon is beside himself!” Richard said with a tired tone. “She doesn’t mean it! Don’t forget her father is the Sun God, it is expected that she has a hot temper sometimes!” Edward said. “I know, but she has never said that she hated me before!” Richard pointed out.  “Jamie just found out that one of her fated mates is in the Chaos Realm’s Prison. Naturally, she is a tad upset. The biggest question now is what is your long term plan for Princess?” Edward asked. “What do you mean?” Richard asked. “You can’t keep her locked up there forever!” Edward said. “Watch me!” Richard growled. Edward sighed and said “Jamie is the Goddess of Wild Magic, to keep her locked up would be akin to torture. Besides, she eventually will find a way out and do something really stupid, like go to Kyronus!”  “I will think of something!” Richard said.  “Well, think fast!” Edward advised. “At least Princess is resting now and even she can’t get into trouble asleep!” Richard said thinking of how he could keep his Mate safe. Meanwhile, Jamie had fallen asleep and was in the dream realm. She was walking around a mountain lake. The sun was shining and the mountain flowers were in full bloom. Jamie saw two figures in the distance and she knew straight away that they were her Mates. “Eric! Richard!” Jamie shouted happily and she ran to them. However, the distance didn’t reduce, in-fact her Mates kept getting further and further away. Jamie picked her speed up and was running at full pelt. Her Mates seemed to turn and walked away from her.  “Noooo! Please wait for me, I am here!” Jamie screamed as she watched her Mates disappeared into the distance. She stopped and fell to her knees crying as she felt despair well up inside her. Even in the Dream Realm, she could not escape her feelings. Suddenly, Jamie felt a nudge on her back and she turned round to find a pair of red pair eyes staring at her, “Mareritt!” Jamie said as she put her arms around the Night Mare’s neck and sobbed. Mareritt snorted in surprise, she was not used to humanoids acting like this. Mareritt was used to humanoids running in fear, not wanting comfort from her!  “But then, it had been a very peculiar day, even for the dream realm!” Mareritt thought. Mareritt waited until the two-legged had stopped crying before lowering her back. Thankfully, the little Goddess understood and climb on. Mareritt snorted and raced off into the distance. The Night Mare was going too fast for Jamie to see the scenery. After what seemed to be hours, Mareritt stopped and Jamie found herself in her Uncle’s study.  “Uncle Niorun!” Jamie said as she slid off Mareritt’s back and into his waiting arms. “Eric, my Mate, has been taken by Chaos!” “I know my sweet child! But, do not despair help is here!” Niorun said in a soft voice. “What do you mean Uncle?” Jamie said confused as she looked into her Uncle’s white eyes. Niorun, the God of Dreams was completely blind, yet he saw far more than most beings.  “He means me...ouch! Stop eating my hair, you dam horse!” A female voice complained. Jamie turned to where the voice came from. She had been so upset she did not see the woman who was lead full length on the black sofa. The woman had long dark blue hair, silver skin and ice-blue eyes. At this precise moment in time, she was desperately trying to bat Mareritt off, who seemed very interested in their hair. “Who are you?” Jamie asked. “She is Pigritia, the high Demoness of Sloth. Though you would not think it right now!” Vanth said with a sigh.  Vanth was in a favourite form a young girl, with long black hair, white skin and black lips. “Aunty! So nice to see you, I would get up but...” Pigritia said. “You can't be bothered?” Vanth said rolling her eyes and Pigritia just smiled. “Aunty? That means the Empress is..” Jamie said slowly. “My mother! Great isn't it?” Pigritia said with a yawn. “I didn't know the Empress had children!” Jamie said shocked. She was pretty sure that Celeste hadn’t known either. “Oh, yes she has seven!” Niorun said. “Seven?” Jamie said stunned. “Yes! Let me see, there is; Superbia, the Demoness of Pride, Cupiditas - the Demoness of Greed and Tentigo, the Demoness of Lust.” Vanth said. “There is also Helluo, who is Demoness of Gluttony, Iracundia the Demoness of Anger and of course Pigritia, the Demoness of Sloth. Is there anyone we have forgotten?” Nuirun asked. “You have forgotten that cesspool of a being, Hannya the Demon of jealousy!” Pigritia growled making Mareritt move back. “Hannya is your brother?” Jamie whispered. Hannya had joined with her ex werewolf lovers soul and has caused all sorts of chaos. “Yes and is of course Mothers favourite being the only male!” Pigritia said disgruntled. “How come no one knows about you?” Jamie blurted out before realising how rude her question was. “Sorry!” she said apologetically. “Oh, I don't have the energy to be hurt or feel anger. It is because we have been locked up by our Mother in Kyronus for the last few thousand years!” Pigritia said in a lazy tone. “How awful!” Jamie sad. She couldn't imagine her God or normal parents doing that! “You have no idea! But luckily for you, it means the Seven Deadly Sins, sorry, I mean the Six Deadly Sins are going to help you bring the old b***h down!” Pigritia said with a smile.
