Lucas’s POV: The long and straight car trip to the small, coastal town where Sarah had disappeared to could have become one of the most dreaded in my life but instead, it provided a lot of clarity. As I hit the final turn, the town coming into view along with the seaside, I felt a sense of relief flood me and my mind turned sharp with realization. First, Sarah is still heavily affected by her past with me. I sigh at this thought because I really thought that she had moved on. I want to be desperately mad at her but there is also a large part of me that understands and sympathizes.
