The ruins of Canterlot, shrouded in perpetual twilight. The once grand city is now a crumbling shell, overtaken by darkness and eerie silence. King Sombra stands in the center of the palace courtyard, a hauntingly beautiful but desolate place, holding the lifeless body of his child. His eyes, usually filled with malevolence, are now brimming with sorrow and fury.
Sombra (whispering to himself): Twilight... I promised you I would protect them. (He looks down at his child, tears streaking down his cheeks.) I failed you both. But I won't let your deaths be in vain.
He gently lays his child down, wrapping them in a piece of his cloak. As he stands, the air around him crackles with dark energy. His horn glows with an ominous light, shadows swirling around him like a storm.
Sombra (raising his voice): You creatures think you can take everything from me? You've destroyed my world, my family... but you will pay for what you've done!
The ground trembles as rifts open around him, and monstrous beings from Discord's realm begin to emerge, their grotesque forms filling the air with a palpable sense of dread.
Creature Leader (snarling): You are alone, pony. Surrender now and we might grant you a swift death.
Sombra (with a cold, steely gaze): Alone? No. I carry the strength of my loved ones with me. And I will end you all.
With a roar of rage and grief, Sombra unleashes a torrent of dark magic. The courtyard becomes a battlefield, shadows clashing with otherworldly monstrosities. Sombra fights with a ferocity fueled by his heartbreak, each strike filled with the weight of his loss and his love for Twilight and their child.
The creatures swarm, but Sombra's power is overwhelming. His magic tears through them, his mane and tail flowing like dark flames. For every creature that falls, Sombra's resolve hardens. The fight is brutal, the air thick with the sounds of battle and the smell of burnt ozone.
Sombra (breathing heavily, standing amidst the fallen creatures): This... is for you, Twilight. For you, my child. (He looks up at the sky, a single tear rolling down his cheek.)
In the aftermath, the silence is deafening. Sombra stands alone, the last pony in a world ravaged by darkness. He reaches into his cloak and pulls out the scroll Twilight gave him, the last remnant of hope.
Sombra (unfurling the scroll): Your magic... it will bring us back to the beginning. I will not let this be our end. I will save you, Twilight. I will save us all.
The scroll glows with a faint light, and as Sombra channels his magic into it, the world around him begins to be enveloped in light. As it stops, Sombra finds himself back in Canterlot bustling with many ponies, then he makes his way to Ponyville to warn Twilight.
In Ponyville, in the warm light of a late afternoon. The town is peaceful and vibrant, a stark contrast to the desolate future Sombra has come from. Sombra, cloaked in shadows to avoid drawing attention, makes his way to the Golden Oak Library, the home and study of Princess Twilight Sparkle.
Sombra (to himself, standing at the front door of the library): This is it. For Twilight. For Equestria. (He takes a deep breath and knocks on the door.)
From inside, the sound of pages turning stops. Twilight's voice, filled with curiosity, calls out.
Twilight: Come in!
Sombra hesitates, the familiarity of her voice bringing a pang of sorrow and hope. He pushes the door open and steps inside. The interior is cozy, lined with shelves of books. Twilight Sparkle, now an Alicorn, sits at a table surrounded by books and scrolls.
Twilight (standing quickly, her wings flaring slightly): Sombra?! What are you doing here?
Her eyes narrow, and her horn begins to glow defensively. Sombra raises a hoof in a gesture of peace.
Sombra: Princess Twilight, I am not here to fight. I need to talk to you.
Twilight (still wary): Talk? About what?
Sombra: About the future. About a world we must prevent from coming to pass.
Twilight's expression remains guarded. Sombra slowly approaches, his movements careful and deliberate. He stops a few paces away, looking deeply into her eyes, and lowers his head.
Sombra: Please, allow me to show you.
Twilight hesitates, her horn still glowing. Sombra gently touches his horn to hers, and a surge of magic connects them. Twilight's eyes widen as memories flood her mind—Celestia and Luna's tragic end, the plague, the disappearence of magic, the creatures from realms of chaos, and the desperate struggle faced by the remnants of Equestria. She sees the collapse of their world, the overwhelming loss, and the relentless battle for survival. The vision ends, and Twilight staggers back, tears in her eyes. She looks at Sombra, seeing him now not as a villain, but as a bearer of dire news.
Twilight (breathless, tears streaming): Is... is this true?
Sombra nods, his eyes reflecting his own pain and hope.
Sombra: Every word, every moment. I came back to stop this. To save you, to save Equestria.
Twilight's defensive stance softens. She steps closer, her eyes searching his for any hint of deceit but finding only sincerity and desperation.
Twilight: Then we have no time to lose. We must warn others and prepare. Together, we can change this future.
Sombra: Thank you, Twilight. I knew you would understand.
Not long after, Twilight's friends came over to her place and when they saw Sombra, they were shocked, along with AJ and Rainbow Dash being the ones that're antagonizing him (At first). To be continued, see you in the next episode. Buh Bye!!!
