XOXO * Alisha My mum was in the waiting room, holding a sign saying 'Alisha,' and smiling. I was moving in with her in Little Brooklyn, a smaller version of the upstate cities. "Alisha! You look stunning. And you're wearing my latest dress! It really suits you, you should model for my clothing line." Did I forget to say? My mum has her own clothing line. ChicLine, you may have heard of it, it's very popular with teenagers. "No Mum. I only want to design, not model. Plus, there must be hotter, prettier LB chics around." Her mum laughed and picked up my suitcase. "Yes there are. But none like my little A-Star." I roll my eyes. I hadn't been called A-Star since primary school. I'm Britsh and grew up in England, even if my Mum is American, but my Dad is English and when they broke apart, I stayed with Dad. "Come on, I have a cab waiting." We got into the taxi and and started to go to the flat. It was big, and modern. With a valet outside. "Hey Johnny, how you doing lately?" Mum asked the guy by the valet stand. He was y age, maybe a bit older, and reminded me of a rockstar. He smiled and said, "Nothing much ma'am. How's your clothing line?" Mum rolled her eyes. "Don't get restarted. Have you met my daughter, Alisha? She'll also be joining Brooklyn High." He looked at me and his smile widened. He had dimples, the kind that girls love. "Then I guess we can go to school together. Johnny Ashbry." He held out a hand and I took it. Mum gave him the key and he got into the car and drove away. But not before tipping his black valet hat. "He's cute isn't he," Mum whispered. "EW! Mum, he's half your age." "Hey! I'm only 36, how old do you think I am? And I meant for you silly. Not me." I roll my eyes and pull my suitcase into the ground lobby. It was beautiful. There was an elevator in the far wall so I made my way there. I pushed a button and the doors opened to reveal a small room lined with windows and about 40 buttons. Mum came in and pushed the 40th button. Top floor, the most expensive penthouse suite. Mum's flat was huge. The living room had a large flat screen tv on a wall and grey sofas facing it. I ran into the bedroom and my jaw dropped. It was bigger than I thought. The wardrobe was walk-in and the bed was big. I loved it. "What do you think?" I spun round and gave my mum a hug. She laughed. "I expect you to wear some of my clothing though. And you must have a midnight curfew. I don't want you pregnant before you graduate." I roll my eyes and give her a kiss on the cheek. "Thanks Mum. I love it. I love you."
