3. Is that a yes?

It was not a surprise that Dandy is on the soccer team. I mean, she is perfect for it. The scary part is that she is defense and I am a striker. So, now that we are going to play against each other. It makes me feel very small. I don't stand a chance on the corners, because I am too short. To my advantage, I am fast and slim. Which I can use to get past the other players. Not so sure if it is going to work on Dandy. I just have to wait and see. It's been a while since I was on a soccer field. The smell of grass lingers in my nose, and the sun feels so good on my pale skin. This is the only thing I have been looking forward today, or since I came here. It was also the only place I could find without asking, or using ten minutes to come here. When I got to class today, we got the news that all of the seventeen-year-olds are going on a field trip. To the woods. That is just... great. I am not a fan of lying in a tent with someone I do not know. Well, my cousin has asked like a thousand times already. For her and me to share. That is not going to happen, because who would like to lie next to someone who can't shut... up. I smile as I get an idea. My eyes end up on the taller girl who is standing on the other side of the field. Already watching me. Not sure if that is a good thing or not. Maybe I can ask her to share a tent. She is quiet and kind. Might be a little scary with her eyes, but that is better than to listen to my complaining cousin. The coach blows the whistle and I wake up, as it is game on. Our team starts with light passes in the back, before someone on the midfield get the ball on her feet. She runs easily looking for someone to kick the ball too. I move further down from my position, which is the front to help the brown haired. She passes me the ball, but as I turn around, I hit a wall. A wall on the soccer field? Seriously, Jamie? I look up meeting those brown-blue eyes and she just watches me. My eyes widen as I realize my hands are on Dandy's collarbones, and I move them fast off her. That earns me a brow raised from her. Her gaze makes me shrink, and not like I was short from the beginning. "Sorry." I say watching her intimidated. She moves to the side for me to pass her. My team is still having the ball, but struggle to get it up to me. Because Dandy is marking me, not just with her body, but also with her eyes as always. "Can I ask you something?" I say unexpectedly, and it earns me an eyebrow raised again. I smile lightly. "Is that a yes?" I wonder, and she nods. "Don't freak out, like at all." I joke because I don't think there is a way to make Dandy has a surprised look on her face. She nods slowly, watching me the same, as always. "You know this trip on Thursday," Dandy nods. "Do... you want to share a... tent?" I ask very unsurely, feeling so tiny right now, as I watch one of my teammates fall down. Then my blue eyes land on Dandy again. She looks at me for a while, but this time there is a little trace of confusion in her eyes. In a way, it seems like she wants to ask me why, but she doesn't. Then she nods, slowly. I smile as I breathe out in relief. "Do you have a tent, because I..." She nods, which makes me stop talking. "Okay, thank you." I smile. I don't know how many times I have been grateful to her now. She nods lightly and her eyes lands on the ball for a little moment. Then back to me. I just smile at her, because I know she means well. People just need to see that. I am packing down some stuff in my bag after the practice. Still, we are outside, on the field in the sunlight. Dandy is standing some few feet's away from me as she watches me. "I think she is trying to make holes in your skull." I hear someone whisper behind me and I turn to watch a girl with the same hair color as me, golden-blond hair. "No," I smile as I take up my bag over my shoulder. "She is actually very kind." I inform her, but she just raises her eyebrow as if I am a fool. "Dandy is not kind, she is," please don't say the word bad. "Dangerous," My eyes widen with shock of the word she just said. Not that I believe it in any way. "Yeah, she is," I think the blond girl misjudge my face. "She made this girl end up in the hospital and she died." That sound even worse than what Andrea told me. What is it with these people and telling me these things about her? Not like that is going to change my mind about her. "If that girl really died, wouldn't that have made Dandy go to jail?" I ask with my eyebrow raised. The foolish girl watches me with her mouth wide open. I roll my eyes, watching her as I start walking. She looks at me the same, which makes me shake my head. I can't believe these people. "Oh my god!" I shout as I look forward almost crashing into Dandy again. I grin as I put my hand over my face. My cheeks are so warm right now. "How many times has it been now?" I ask, removing my hand from my face. Dandy is staring at me as usual, but then she watches behind me. I know who she is looking at. The girl who just told me something horrible. Dandy clench her teeth and her eyes narrow with anger. I guess she must have noticed that the blond girl talked to me. It's not a surprise that she saw that, but her reaction is something I just have to smile at. She looks down at me again and her eyes soften. Not so much, but enough for me to notice it. Then she just steps lightly to her side for me to pass and still, she is staring at me with her tense hazel eyes. "Thank you." I smile at her for a little moment, before I start walking in the sunlight down to my car. Why do the others look at her as if she is a monster? I mean she is kind and so mysterious. That is not much to go with, but I like the way she is. Even though I barely know her. Haven't even gotten a word out of her yet. Not sure if that is a good thing or not. At least she agreed to share a tent with me. That is so good news, for my ears. I hope this is going to go well and that it would not be awkward around Dandy. Not like it is, well, the staring might make my head spin around. But that is actually fine, since I kind of know how she is. Dandy don't use words, she does things. Which is a little better than words. I mean, she didn't ask me if I needed help she just literary reached out her hand. I am so grateful for that she has shown me where to go, which has made me stop running around like a crazy person. I hope she does not look at me like I am a crazy person.
