Roxie squinted at the three men on her doorstep like they were a hallucination she was too tired to deal with. “You are making a terrible habit of this,” Roxie grumbled. She was barely awake, and her body ached from spending the night on a blanket on the floor. Not that she was complaining. Falling asleep on Tyler’s chest had been stupidly comfortable. Her body just didn’t appreciate the concrete floor part of the experience. What she did mind, however, was Mitch’s version of knocking, which was basically pounding like the police at seven. A.M.
