Reid and I both stood up from the couch as Cujo turned and headed back towards the stairs. We passed by the kitchen, and Manon and Tessa paid us no mind, still completely engrossed in their studies and experimentation. We exchanged a look, like a silent agreement not to interrupt them. Reid sent me upstairs ahead of him, guiding me with a hand on the small of my back. We followed Cujo to Grady’s bedroom, and I felt a mixture of surprise and disappointment when we found she was still fast asleep. There were two chairs positioned by the left side of her bed.
