Light, teasing sparks radiated up and down my back, rousing me. I felt fingertips, stroking softly, tracing up and down my spine. Goosebumps rose on my skin, and I shivered. Then the stroking abruptly stopped. Eyes still closed, I frowned. “Keep doing that.” My sleepy voice was hardly a whisper. Reid obliged, and kissed my shoulder. “I’m sorry,” he murmured into my ear, his voice rich and husky, eliciting another shiver. “I didn’t mean to wake you.” I just inched closer to him, and he kissed my temple. His touch on my back was featherlight. Warmth radiated off of him, and his familiar, comforting scent surrounded me. Soon, I began to drift back to sleep. But then my phone pinged from my nightstand.
