Anjeelina They said that high school days are the best time of our lives. But why does mine suck? Is this the advantage of being smart and attractive at the same time? Being a popular introvert is indeed hard. Instead of hearing white noises, you will hear either praises or gossips from every student in the school. Selene Xerxes and I are known for being the two pretty best friends. We are also known as Intelligent Duo for accomplishing almost a hundred trophies in every competitions and exams that every school have. Students especially girls, won't stop approaching and talking to us because of that. They won't stop asking how did we get so beautiful and smart at the same time? Some students says that it's really rear to a person to be intelligent and be attractive,some says it's natural. How can people think like this? Is it natural for them to think that some of smart people are not that attractive? I just shake it off and whisper to myself. "All humans are born attractive in their own way." "What are you mumbling about Anjee?" The brunette in front of me asked making me snap out of my deep thoughts. "Probably, how can human be so cruel." I answered plainly. "And why is that? Is there something bothering you?" She ask after taking a bite on the chocolate bar she's holding. I shake my head and look at her, "Nothing,I don't want to talk about it. Anyway,do you have a practice later?" "I do,but I don't want to attend it. I have different plans. Wanna go on a karaoke later?" She smiled excitedly and expected for me to give her a positive answer. Well, just by thinking of it,it makes me feel exhausted already. Plus I'm having a speech for the Student Councils tomorrow,so.. "No,I can't say I want to." I continue eating my strawberries not minding how she will react. "But Genni..!" She whines first then she stands up and sit beside me. She cling on my arm and she lay her head on my shoulder. "Come on, it's been a while since we hang out. Plus I'm sure you will have fun because it will just be the two of us!" She said in a cute way,trying to convince me. "Selene.. you're the head cheerleader. Everyone is expecting you to come and practice,you can't just cancel it." I said while laying my head on hers. "I know.. but you asked me if I have practice later. So I'm suspecting you wanna hang out. Come on! Just this once. Pleeeease?" I sigh for the nth time and was about to say something when she cut me off,"don't worry about them. I'll just tell them that there's a urgent meeting that I need to attend." Then she stand up proudly and get her phone. I didn't expect her to tell them immediately but the next thing I knew is she already hang up and told me that everything is now fine. Well,looks like I have no choice now. "It's now all settled. Can you come with me now?" She smiled brightly. I sighed and answer,"fine." And sighed again. Then she jump around like a 5 year old while eating her chocolate bar. "Anjeelina! Here you are! We've been looking for you in the library." An upperclassman suddenly approach and talk to me. Why is he talking like we're close? I don't even know who he is. "And you are?" I lazily look at him. "Oh I'm sorry,where are my manners?" He slap his forehead and breath heavily. Then he wipe his hand on his pants and offer me a hand shake. "I'm Gabriel Ambrus from Drama Club. I'm very much sorry for the manner that I suddenly show you." I grab his hand since I'm left with no choice but to talk to him. "Do I even have to introduce myself?..." He was about to speak,but I quickly cut him off because of annoyance. "..Anjeelina Genni Dawnn from Students Council. It's nice to meet you Ariel or whoever you are." Yes, I'm annoyed. Totally annoyed,I already know what he's going to ask me. When it comes to intelligence, I actually have a higher rank than Selene. That is why most people look up to me and has more expectations to the actions that I have to do. "It's Gabriel, Miss Dawnn. I'll go and straight to the point. Mr. Bae asked me to come here and show you our script for the play. He already read and analyze it but he still wants your confirmation." Then he handed me script his talking about. I open it and read the title along the first sentence. "First,you have to change the title. Crazy Little Lies is too obvious. The Truth Untold is more suitable in order for people to be more curious and surely be interested just by reading the title. And second,do you really have to use a sketch book to make a script? Try making another one with a proper material for the script. And if you want me to let you perform this,make sure to satisfy, okay?" I give back the sketch book and he respectfully accept it by giving me a bow before leaving. I tried to be calm as possible. The confidence of that boy talking to me broadly is just too annoying. Call me stagy or whatever,I don't care. My perfectionist side suddenly came out. And if the teachers wants me to confirm everything before doing or performing it, I'm hoping they will expect it to be rejected at first, because of how perfect I want it to be. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Selene Break time is just starting but Anjee already bid her good bye to me. She's probably going to read some books or walk around the campus. Aside from her,I don't really have any much friends. That's why I decided to leave the cafeteria since I don't have anyone to talk to. I'm not reaching the third floor when I see someone walking towards my direction,"no,not now." I'm slightly panicking and was about to go back down when I heard him calling name. At first,I ignored it and wanted to keep walking down but his calls became louder that makes me feel embarrassed. Not just because he's annoying the other students but because people might think of us into something. "Selene! Wait for me!" He finally reach my spot and hold my hand. I rolled my eyes before giving him a glare. "Woah.. chill! I'm not even doing anything! Anyway,where are you going? Want me to go with you?" He smile widely. "No,not today Ahri. You are not going to annoy the hell out of me!" "Seeing me from afar already makes you annoy." He's not lying. Ah, he's Ahri Choi,the captain of the varsity. Students keep shipping us just because we're both head,and that what's encourage him to approach and talk to me. Turned out,he actually like me. "I just need some time alone,so if you don't mind?" I ask him with a annoying tone,giving him a hint so that he can give me a way. "What do you mean? You're always alone. If you're not with Anjeelina, you're just by yourself. That's why I'm here to accompany you in every journey!" Wooooow so proud. As if I will let you. "Ahri,just move out of the way please. You're wasting my time." I said in a serious way. I'm acting pissed so that he can finally give in. He sigh before answering,"okay fine but can I at least take you out for a dinner tonight?" He hopefully asked. I also want to go so that I can get free food and free ride but no. I already invited Gen to join me and no one is going to interrupt our night. "I'm sorry,but I already have plans with Anjeelina. I hope you understand." I smiled at him and decided to leave already. I glance at the watch and it's almost 2 pm,that means I only have 30 minutes to stay in the rooftop. Damn that boy. While making my way to the rooftop,I remember the face he made after I refuse him. I feel guilty. We're actually close but I just can't address him as one of my friends because of what he felt for me. I'm not gonna lie,he's materialistic, he's the man that every girl been dreaming of,well not me. He's handsome,kind,have a mascular body and he's also smart. But what I've describe is nothing 'cause I already rejected him since the first place. I just don't understand how he manage to continue pursuing me even though I already rejected him. He just doesn't give up. I snap out of my thoughts when the wind hit my face as soon as I open the rooftop door. I continue walking and open my arms to feel it. I feel so light,I feel like I want to fly. I close my eyes and heavily breath in but something smells wrong. I smell cigarettes.. I finally open my eyes and find where that smell coming from. "Cigarettes are prohibited here Miss. If you haven't read the School Rules,you should transfer to the other school instead." I said when I finally found who it is. I'm glaring but she can't see it since she's staring at the other side of the building. "I haven't read it yet. Sorry not sorry,I guess?" She said in normal tone that makes me annoy again. I was about to say something when she suddenly turn around and cut me off. "How am I supposed to transfer into other schools if I just transferred here?" She asked while raising her eyebrows. "Ah I see.. A transferee who's going to be in trouble on her first day huh? May I know your name Miss?" I asked with my arms crossed. She sighed and rolled her eyes then spoke,"Who even are you? You have no rights to question me." "I'm.. I'm the student council vice president! I don't have any proof for now because.. because.. It's break time and I forgot my I.D in my bag!" I said as an excuse. I don't really have any interest in joining the Student Council. But since Anjee is the President,I think she can handle this one. "You doesn't seem to look like one. Don't even try to fool around Miss." She said turning her back that makes me annoyed more. "Just tell me your name,then I'll be done here!." I said annoyingly. She sighed again. "Leora. Leora Ambrus."
