ZAC The light was too bright . It burned into my eyes, searing brighter than the sun. I squeezed them shut, raising my arm to shield my face, but it did nothing. The ground shook harder, the forest roaring with the sound of cracking earth and shattering stone. And then there was utter silence. When I opened my eyes again, everything was gone and I was standing alone in a damp cave. The air was cold and thick, and every breath felt heavy, filling my chest with stale air.
