AMBER I woke up in a room that didn’t smell like mine. It didn’t even smell like the Everdales. My limbs were heavy, my head spinning as if I had been drugged. The lights were dim and yellow, buzzing faintly like they were struggling to stay alive. I tried to remember how I got here but I couldn’t. Everything felt wrong.
