"Amber!" I called, thrashing through the mess that was now her room.
Her bed was thrown upside down. Her sheets and blankets clung to the walls like they'd been used in some frantic struggle.
Her books were torn, scattered across the floor like they had tried to run from the chaos. Every drawer, every closet, ripped open and emptied.
But the worst part… the part that made my wolf claw at my chest was the silence. Amber was gone.
"Zac, she’s not here!" Jamie called from the bathroom, voice ragged with panic, confirming my conclusion.
My bones weakened as cold fear clawed at my heart. This couldn’t be happening!
I slapped her curtains aside and checked the empty space, still hoping for a miracle. But her scent was faint.
Whoever had been here took her a long time ago.
