When Zac choked me, I was certain I would never see the light of day again. My heart had raced so fast, I feared it would implode in my chest before air even finished from my lungs.
But surprisingly, I didn't die.
I gasped awake in a strange room that I immediately realized was somewhere in their mansion. And it was still dark outside which meant I was only out for a couple of minutes.
And I could still make an escape.
"I am going to show you, Zac Everdale!" I snarled, shooting to my feet immediately.
I rushed off the bed, ignoring the low hum of an ache that filled the back of my head.
