Chapter 1 – The Girl Who Pretends
Amara was the type of girl who would say,
“I don’t need anybody,”
then cry at 2am because nobody stayed 😔💔.
She laughed too loudly.
Teased her friends nonstop.
Rolled her eyes whenever people talked about love 🙄.
“Love is stress,” she would say.
“Me? I just want peace.”
But the truth?
Peace felt lonely. 🥺
She wasn’t heartless.
She was just tired.
Tired of giving too much.
Tired of caring first.
Tired of pretending she didn’t feel deeply.
Then he came.
Tunde wasn’t loud.
He didn’t try to impress her.
He just… watched 👀.
One day, after she made a joke about
“Men being useless,” he smiled and said:
“You talk like someone who once loved too hard.”
She froze.
“What does that even mean?” she asked, trying to sound annoyed. 😳
He shrugged.
“It means you don’t hate love. You’re just scared of it.”
She laughed. Too quickly. 😅
“Please. I’m not that deep.”
But later that night…
She replayed his words over and over. 💖
Because for the first time,
someone didn’t fall for her “I’m strong” act.
And somehow…
that scared her more than love ever did. 😌💔
To be continued…
