03 | Seeing Red

*Winter*

“Really, Summer? You are no fun at all!” I scoffed with annoyance as I crossed my arms over my chest.

After getting dressed, I went to check on her, only to find her eating Chinese food in her pajamas and with a book in one hand.

“What?” she asked innocently, making me squint my eyes at her.

“Get up. You are coming with us.” I grumbled as I pulled on her arm.

“No,” she whined as she struggled to get out of my grip. “He is about to find out that she is cheating! It’s so good!”

“I swear, I will never get how we both came out of the same vagīna.” I muttered, rolling my eyes before pointing at her. “Tomorrow there are no excuses. You will come to the club with us. We will get you tipsy and you will freaking like it!”

“Fine. Now, let me be. I need to finish this book by tonight if you want me to go,” she replied, making me sigh because I knew it was a lost cause.

I walked out to meet with the others as I mind linked Reina to let her know to leave a few warriors behind to protect my sister. To say she was disappointed was an understatement. We’ve been trying to get her to loosen up since she turned eighteen, but it’s been a whole two years wasted. There’s no corrupting that girl.

She’s never gone to parties, bars or even gotten tipsy, considering tipsy’s the most werewolves can get and even then, we had to drink a whole bar to get to that point. Oh well, I guess tomorrow will be the day we finally get her to have some fun.

*Reina*

“I can’t believe she left us hanging,” I told Winter as we finished dinner.

We went to a cozy Italian restaurant down the street that locals recommended, since we are not very familiar with this town. And let me tell you, the locals were spot on. The food at Antonio’s was to die for.

“Yeah, I know, boo, but you know how stubborn she can be.” Winter replied with a shrug.

“Babe, you ready to go?” Xander asked me, cutting in as he threw his arm over my shoulder.

“Hey, girls, we heard about this rooftop club near downtown that seems like it’s super popular and mostly only supernaturals go,” Oliver added, joining us too.

“Yes!” Winter and I squealed at the same time.

I mean, can you blame us? This was the first time we went out to a club outside the territory and without adults at that. Being that there were mainly supernaturals, made it even more exciting.

“Is that safe, Alpha?” Doug, one of my top warriors, asked me before he fidgeted a few feet away.

“Yes. It’s on neutral territory. We should be safe, but we will still be taking four of you.” I replied as I pointed at my top four warriors.

I’m sure we were more than enough, since Xander and Oliver were top warriors themselves, but I wouldn’t risk it just in case.

“Yes, Alpha.” All four of them replied as they followed behind us.

“Goddess, this club is everything! Did I just die and go to heaven?” Winter gasped as her eyes took in the place, making me laugh at her.

“I must agree with you, Win-Win. This place is pretty awesome.”

The club had an amazing view of downtown and was basically out in the open. You could feel the night breeze as soon as you stepped out of the elevator. The music was blasting, people were dancing and drinking, and the vibe was just indescribable.

We walked towards the VIP section that we managed to book at the last minute, the perk of being alpha of the second largest pack in the country.

The bouncers made way for us, and once we reached our designated area, we sat on the clear chairs towards a glass wall that had a view to the whole dance floor. From this area you could see the other VIP areas that surrounded us, and basically the whole club.

“We will go get you ladies a drink,” Xander voiced over the loud music as he leaned in to kiss me while Oliver did the same with Winter.

“We are going to dance for a bit,” I informed the guys before they nodded and walked towards off to the bar.

They didn’t bother asking us what we liked, since they knew our usual anytime and anywhere. Two cosmopolitans and two martinis to loosen up.

As we were walking towards the dance floor, I began to feel on edge and my heart rate picked up, forcing me to grab onto Winter’s arm.

“Are you okay, Reina?” she asked me with brows furrowed before I nodded and continued pulling her to the dance floor.

The further onto the dance floor we got, the more relaxed I felt. And as soon as we reached the dance floor, our bodies instantly swayed with the music.

*Alejandro*

The guys and I managed to survive our stay in the Midnight Shadow pack without being raped by all the desperate females in the pack. We were supposed to stay until tomorrow morning but decided to leave early because we were too uncomfortable and just wanted to be ourselves.

My family and I owned a mansion in the next town over, which we used for vacations or moments like these. We were going to the club first and then we would stay in our mansion until the meeting tomorrow at the Red Claw pack.

“Let’s go to that one rooftop club that we heard about during our last meeting in the neutral territory,” Apollo commented with a huge grin as he wiggled his brows.

“I like the way you think.” I replied with a smirk before turning away from him. “Seems like you are useful indeed.” I joked in a low whisper to myself, knowing he would still hear me because of our werewolf hearing.

“Asshole,” he muttered before he tried to kick me, but obviously failed since I was too quick for him.

I started laughing hysterically when he almost busted his ass, but as soon as I finally caught my breath, I looked over to Rafael.

“Coming with us?” I asked him.

“Nah. Maybe tomorrow. You guys should really prep for tomorrow’s meeting too. Do you even know the topics to discuss and the alpha’s that will be present?” He asked with one eyebrow raised, making me sigh.

“Yeah, a bunch of middle-aged dudes who think that they are all better than the next,” I replied to him, rolling my eyes. “Plus, I still have the morning to review everything.”

“Suit yourself. I’ll be here,” he answered before turning away.

“Huuu—l—loser.” I coughed out as I tried playing off my grin.

Apollo and I walked out chuckling when Rafael flipped us the finger over his shoulder. We called out for a few warriors to join us as our security for the night before climbing into the SUVs that were waiting for us.

“Let’s have fun!” Apollo stated as he rubbed his hands together.

This club was better than a lot of other ones that I have been to, but it wasn’t the best. I looked over to Apollo, who was searching through the crowd from the VIP area as I shook my head.

“Looking for your next victim?” I questioned him with a smirk.

“You don’t mind staying here with the twins, right?” He asked me in return as his lips tilted upward into a grin.

“Get out of here you hōrny bastārd.” I chuckled while pushing him away before he was gone within seconds.

“Alpha, do you need another whiskey on the rocks?” Chad, one of my warrior twins, asked me.

I nodded and thanked him before I turned back around and stared through the glass wall in our section.

I instantly spotted a beautiful brunette with the sexiest curves I had ever seen. She was wearing what looked to be a tight ass shirt with black or shiny black pants. The sight of her had stirred something deep within me that I couldn’t comprehend.

When Chad walked back with my whiskey, I had a taste of the bitter liquid before I made my way to the first floor where the brunette and her friend were at. I was still a few feet away when it finally hit me.

The mouthwatering summer breeze scent.

I gulped as my mind swirled before chugging the remainder of my whiskey. I breathed in as much of the scent as I could as I continued walking impatiently towards it, which to my surprise was the same fūcking sexy brunette that I had been eyeing a few seconds ago.

I was still at a distance when I saw some fūcker put his disgusting arms around my mate’s waist and I swear I saw fūcking red.

“Alpha,” Brad spoke from behind me, making me take a deep breath before turning around to him.

“What?” I growled loudly, unconsciously forcing him to submit to me with my powerful aura.

“We can feel your anger all the way on the second floor and all the warriors are ready to attack. We are waiting for your order,” he informed tensely.

I tried to relax a little before I realized that she hadn’t even sensed me.

Was she human? That’s weird, but then again, she seemed pretty fūcking busy at the moment.

If Brad hadn’t distracted me, I would have let my wolf take over and shred the asshole that was touching my mate to pieces. I usually wouldn’t have cared, but the fact that we were on neutral grounds could very well cause a problem.

“I still think you should kill him,” Scar, my wolf, growled lowly.

“You know we are on neutral grounds, Scar, and you also know that it’s against the law to attack any supernatural or human here. I’m just going to observe and once she’s alone, I’ll make my move.” I informed him through gritted teeth.

And I did just that. I observed her like a hawk and struggled to resist the urge to dart towards her and claim her.

But one thing was for sure, she was beautiful and perfect.
