Chapter 10Rebecca woke late the next morning. She stirred to the sounds of nothing and no one, not even the wind. The quiet felt so eerie, especially after the fanfare that was last night. She was about to panic when she remembered a distant conversation about a fishing boat. Cam had really wanted to go, so he was most likely chartering a fishing vessel for him and the boys. And everyone else? Rebecca wondered. Maybe… Though it felt rude to leave her behind, she was also sort of relieved. She was having a blast here, but she was also exhausted and not even used to this much socializing. She had no chance to revise the edits she’d received either and so took this opportunity to have some peace and quiet to work. She set up her laptop at the same spot in the kitchen. She made her own eggs
