Malakai's POV
Her face was straight but I could still see her lips trembling uncontrollably, tears fell from her eyes when she blinked- her face and entire body shook as her eyes bored deep into mine
What was I supposed to say? That I promise I won't leave? What relationship do we have to warrant such words? I wanted to correct her, to tell her she shouldn't put her hopes up because I might not be able to protect her
But seeing those teary eyes and pleading gaze, I knew I wanted to keep her by my side, to protect and keep her safe so I replied. "I promise I won't leave Jenna," I added. "For Charles"
Fortunately, she nodded. "For Charles" looking elsewhere. Ronda and Charles came in at that time
"He was asleep already," Ronda said as Charles walked to us
