
Obinna was the only son of Mr. and Mrs. Kalu Odoh. They resides at Onitsha in Anambra State, Mr. Kalu Odoh, Obinna’s father was unemployed for almost six years now, after being sacked from the Bank job, out of frustration, he turns to alcohol, he became a drunkard, he doesn’t care for his family anymore. Mrs. Kate Odoh, Obinna’s mother was a good woman, she was the breadwinner of the family, she sold firewood and hustle day and night to make sure that her family was well taken care of.
Obinna was a lovely and smart boy, he doesn’t allow the little suffering and problems at home to distract nor disturb his life goals or ethics and belief, he enjoys attending church programs with his mother; he was taught the word of the Living God. He was brilliant in school, and he has talent and skills in football, his mother always advise him to follow his heart and do whatever his good spirit directs him to do, she believes that her son was destined for something great, she only beg God to keep her alive to witness it.
One night, Obinna was in a dream, he was playing football with the Europeans, he observed that he was the only black and African player on the pitch, fans were hailing and shouting his name as he scored the winning goal, after the game, the coach was like telling him “Obinna we need you, please come to us, we need you”. The coach was repeating those statements till Obinna woke up. Before he kicks off to school, he told his mother of his dreams,she advised him to visit their church pastor after school hours for prayer and counselling.
After school, Obinna met the pastor, he was prayed for, although, the pastor received a prophetic message from the Living God concerning Obinna, but he didn’t disclose it to him, he rather told Obinna to send for his parents to see him later. The pastor didn’t want to disclose the revelation to him; he thought it will make Obinna to divert his attention from Church activities, Education and many other important things in quest of football without learning the basic rules and other important guidelines. Obinna’s parent later met the pastor, the pastor told them that their son is destined to become a great footballer, he went on to advise them to find one of the good local football clubs in the area for him to start training, as directed by God. After the meeting, Obinna’s parent advised him to join any good football club in the area.
Obinna joined Duntex Football Club, Onitsha, it’s one of the best competitive football club in Onitsha, he registered and started training with them, he was doing very well in his preferable position in central attack, he was a standard 9, he normally converts midfielders efforts to goals, he was also a sharp shooter and finisher; his coach Mr. Kelechi loved him very well, he was made the club captain because of his fine performance and the numerous goals he scores, his coach was also giving him private lessons.
