Chapter Twenty-OneThalia was confused. Her parents had thought that the site they’d been exploring was a temple dedicated to the muses. Indeed, they’d managed to find statues of three of the nine, but had all of them been together in one room, or were they spread out each to their own room or space? Were all nine muses worshipped there or just some—perhaps a subset? None of her father or mother’s notes offered up any hypothesis for the temple’s use. She hoped her father would have some answers for her as she knocked on his study door.
