Chapter 13

622 Words
"You added a character?" Claire's voice spread all over her room. Leonie realized she needed to give the main character another shot to live, so she came up with the idea of creating a new character that would give Rodney's lonely life a happy one. "Seriously, a young lady on a scrub suit? I just can't buy it." grumbled Claire once more. "I find it interesting. Seems to have a good taste in pairing up, Leonie. A dying man found a practicing nurse who has a sense of humor. How did you arrive at this?" Bhea was enticed with the twist of the story. "That's the least thing that I can do for Rodney and for his followers. It may be good or bad, let's just see if the readers would like it." Leonie clicked the upload button so the followers would see the third episode. "Where did you get that girl anyway? It would be better if she has the license to take care of him." Claire said. She was still not convinced with the creation of the new character. Leonie just stared outside, not minding the comments she heard from them. For her, it was good to have good critic like them. They seemed to give balance to her life. But that day, she was fed up by the negative comments. A moment later, she wore her sleepers to go outside the house. "Hey, where are you goin'?" Bhea jumped out of the bed and followed her outside. "I'm coming with you! Wait for me!" Claire shouted as she closed her cell phone while her feet were busy looking for her sleepers. She chased them outside where the two walked down the street to heading to the plaza. The glimmering sun was guiding them as they were crossing the street. The acacia trees, on the other hand, gave them shades to protect them from its heat. The three just kept walking, they neither talk nor anybody to c***k a joke. Their silence sometimes broke by the passing crowd or vehicles. At last for more than five minutes of treading the lane, they finally reached the plaza where noise was hovering around the place. They saw a bench made of wood and steel, Leonie sat first and the two followed. She took her earphone in her pocket, put it on her ears and began playing music with her cell phone. The two got weird with her action, but instead of asking, Claire rather bought an ice cream to the Ice cream boy who was passing on the street. Bhea, who didn't like ice cream went to a burger stand just right beside where they sat. She was actually the carnivorous among them. "Here, have some ice cream. I know you want to cool yourself from our negative vibes." offered Claire to Leonie as she moved toward the bench. "Thanks." Leonie said, then she grasped the ice cream on her right hand. "Sorry also for those negative side comments I made about your characters. I realized I should have supported you, instead." continued Claire after licking the ice cream. "You've been always there for me and I'm thankful for that, but there are times that I also needed some space to make myself feel important. So please, whatever I did to my story. I would love if you accept it that way." She said before a small lick on her ice cream. "Did I miss anything?" Bhea asked while slouching on the bench. She also started gobbling her burger. The two just smiled; soon they followed it with contagious laughter. Until afternoon, they roamed around the plaza. They spent the whole day watching the children playing; munching their favorite fried peanuts. Leonie momentarily forgot her problem. For a moment, she was able to enjoy the day without stress and pressure.
