12. Charlie's Happiness

1840 Words
Charlie slumped down on his table inside his office, holding his mobile phone in his hands, horizontally while the video of Celeste fighting right in the middle of the Camden street and punching the spiky white male supremacist right at the spot and knocking him down with just punch, played over his screen the umpteenth time, he felt sleepy, exhausted due to the fact that he hadn’t slept in the past twenty four hours, ever since he got to know Celeste really was. The door to his office opened up and Dexter walked inside, carefully closing the door behind and charging ahead towards Charlie, who opened up his eyes and straightened in his chair, swirling his swivel chair slightly left and right, trying to shake his sleep off. “You don’t seem to be in much energy.” Dexter pointed out to Charlie, who sighed, stretching his limbs out over his seat and grabbing his phone, finding the video of Celeste’s street fight in front of him. “She really does have a strong punch.” Charlie told Dexter, remembering the time when she also knocked Tim down with just one punch. “No wonder why, given it may be hereditary.” He told Charlie, who nodded back at Dexter. “Are you sure... I mean...” he sighed, contemplating the chances of Celeste being the one that they think of her to be. “I am sure that her real name is not Celeste John and that she is the daughter of...” Dexter cleared his throat, not wanting to say the word out loud, “But... again if you come to think about it, what are the odds that she ended up crashing in to you the other day in the club and then you see her in that... video...” Dexter stated in a quite ashamed manner, not wanting to bring up that obnoxious video that has made Charlie pretty embarrassed. “... and then you recognize her and then I find out that who she is... I think as the head of the security of the kingdom, this is a made of grieve importance that you should look into.” Charlie sighed, running a hand through his hair. For the last two years, he took over as the in charge of the state internal and external security, whereby he guided the minister of defense, who worked right underneath his supervision and handled grave matters that threatened the security of his country. And from what he saw at the moment, it wasn’t only a matter that threatened the security of his country but actually his entire family, a matter that strictly pointed out towards his duty, not just as a Prince but also, as a son, a brother and a member of the royal family. “Let’s just... keep a tight check on her for the time being. She’s been in the UK for the past five years and nothing about her tracks have seemed suspicious so we can’t just take her in on any baseless grounds.” “Umm... you are forgetting about that video. We can form a connection between the video specifically targeting a member of the royal family and Celeste’s family history.” Dexter told Charlie, who shook his head. “It’s been taken down anyways and the people who were actually behind that video, confirmed that they hired Celeste, who didn’t even know what the skit was about. And besides, you found it out yourself that during her college days, she did many small acting and stunt skits.” Dexter sighed, shaking his head in disappointment and knowing that Charlie was not sensing trouble with Celeste, the same way that he was. “But we should still call her in for interrogation, maybe we could find out something over her mother and...” Charlie blew out an exasperated sigh of annoyance, knowing very well that Dexter wanted to take Celeste in for investigation, ever since he learnt about who she was and the only sensible thing for Charlie to do and to prohibit Dexter from doing anything illegal, was to agree to his request. He knew that one way or the other, Dexter would find a way to get to Celeste and before he ends up doing anything illegal or get in to a hand on hand combat with her, it was a much more safer thing for him to do to, get Celeste to them. “Bring her in for questioning!” Charlie ordered and Dexter smiled in pride, turning to leave. “But! Be careful, she shouldn’t feel that we know anything about her. pretend that you are bringing her in for that street fight.” He pointed out towards his phone, “You told me that she had gotten in to trouble before as well, so make sure that she doesn’t realize the real reason behind us calling her for an interrogation.” Dexter nodded to Charlie’s command, understanding that he made more sense than Dexter’s original plan, that included torturing Celeste to make her spit out the truth about the fact that she was indeed her mother’s spy, sent back to the country or at least tie her with a polygraph machine and force her to spit out the truth. But even with Charlie’s instructions to be careful, Dexter was still quite determined to take Celeste in for investigation and have her speak out what he considered to be the only truth. As Dexter walked out of the room, Charlie sat back, grabbing his phone, to once again read Celeste’s body language in the viral video of her taking down the racist but it paused midway when his phone screen changed to the FaceTime call of Isabella and Harold calling him. He threw his head back on his chair. As if, seeing the two get married wasn’t an enough of a torture for him, he would now be forced to see them being happy and cheery on their honeymoon. Contemplating his choices for a moment, he decided to answer the phone, making sure that with each further happy event that he would discover in his brother and Isabella’s life, he would be nothing but purely happy, or at least pretend to be. Answering the call, he put his best smile, as Isabella and Harold stood in thick furry jackets, over the ice smitten peaks of Zurich, as they waved back at Charlie. “Charles!” Isabella yelled out loud in joy, rubbing her hands together, as cold swarmed in to her bones, passing through her thick clothes and Harold stood ahead of her, trying to keep her warm as he hugged with his arm and at the same time used his other hand to hold the phone. “Hey! Bro... how are ya?” he asked in a chippy manner and Charlie only smiled looking at the two jokers. “I am good but you two definitely look quick frozen.” “Oh! It is so cold.” Isabella complained, “That’s why I wanted to go to Bora Bora and wear my skimpy bikinis but no! this guy is a trekker here!” she nudged in to Harold, making him laugh. “You are a princess now! You can’t wear all that.” He told Isabella, who had her mouth hanging open. “What? You didn’t tell me that.” She told him back. “What if I had?” “Then, I would definitely not have said yes to you.” She said, as the two began bickering and Charlie found it annoying that even when they were on their honeymoon, thousands of miles away, they still found a way to get him on FaceTime and make him their third wheel, much like they always did when they were together. “Guys! I guess you are on your honeymoon and missing me?” he said, attaining both of their attention. “Oh! Yes...” the both spoke simultaneously. “We also called to check, how are you doing? We talked to Victoria and she told us that you handled the creators of that video?” Isabella inquired and Charlie nodded his head. “The video has been taken down.” He informed the two, who seemed much more pleased. “That sounds about right.” Harold stated with pride. “You know what, we saw a perfect lodge here for two couples, we should totally come here when you get a girl friend.” Isabella encouraged Charlie, who only gave in a small smile to her. He wasn’t sure if he was ever going to get a girl or not, because the only woman that his heart belonged to had already been to that lodge. “Guys! I have to go now, I have an important meeting ahead.” With that Charlie abruptly cut the call short, not having the courage in him, enough to deal with the current situation. He still had to get used to of being assured that the love of his life was someone else’s forever. “That was rude.” Isabella pointed out, as Harold slipped his phone back inside his coat’s pocket and held her hand, walking her back towards their car. There were small tourists and shopkeepers, standing around the bustling market but none of the people dared to walk towards the Royal couple, no matter how much they wanted to because of the tall guards that were scattered throughout the entire place and guarded the couple with all their might and whenever anyone would try to get anywhere near them, three guards would immediately step ahead and circle the couple. “It is Charlie, what were you expecting from him? A farewell song?” he laughed and Isabella shrugged along with him, as their security followed them towards their car and helped them get inside. As soon as Harold and Isabella were inside their cars, their Bentley rolled down the pavement, along with two security cars, trailing behind them. To the entire royal security team, everything seemed to be in perfect control but just as their car rolled down the mountain, another Mercedes trailed behind them, making sure to stay in the shadows of the car, following them down towards their private lodge, where Isabella and Harold both got out of their cars and went in. The two men, sitting in the black Mercedes, parked at a distance, away and out of the sight of the people that guarded that parameter of the lodge, keenly noticed the surroundings of the entire place, mapping out the places where the guards were located. The driver of the car, looked at her partner, who took out his phone and dialed in a number, and spoke through the line. “They are in the lodge, give us a signal and we will attack.” -------------------------------                                Well, Isabella and Harold are definitely in danger.
