Piper's POV
“This is the board room.” Ruby's voice finally broke through the thick air of silence between us. Her brown eyes sharply cut through my gaze as she pushed a huge, transparent glass door open. The burning glare on her face almost burned through my skin….if it could.
“Uhm…yeah…thank you….” I stuttered, clinging at the sleeve of my sweater as I walked in. The walk from my office down to this place had to be the longest walk of my life. Ruby kept muttering cuss words under her breath.
A strong, sweet scent flushed across my nose as soon as I stepped into the board room. Two long lines of chairs and a long table stretched from the beginning of the room. As I glanced around the room, the memories of Ethan in his board room washed up in my head.
