Sean slid the last bottle into a box and carried it over to the cart. When he finished bottling a run, the cousins all got together and sampled the wine. That way they were prepared to describe it to customers and accurately represent what they were selling.
Their grandfather, Carmelo, was a strong believer in knowing your own product. He was adamant that he know every wine inside and out. It was one of the reasons he made sure his daughters, the aunts to Sean’s generation, all drank Amavita wine from the time they were teenagers.
The aunts were less free with the alcohol having grown up in the United States instead of Italy where there was no drinking age. Sean, his siblings, and his cousins all had their fair share of wine growing up, though. And as the owners, they all carried on the
