“I needed this,” Beth said as they settled into a booth at Robert’s. “It’s been far too long since we’ve grabbed a drink after work.”
Erin nodded. “We’ve both been so busy lately. But I missed it, too. I’m glad we’re out today.”
Beth sipped her drink, s*x on the Beach. She told Erin she always wanted to order one of the naughty drinks from a hot bartender, and the guy behind the bar was definitely right up Beth’s alley. He had a silver fox thing going on, and he winked at her when she asked for the drink.
“Me, too. This week has kicked my a*s. After the holidays is always hard on the kids, but this week has been particularly rough.”
“Yeah. I think it’s the break coming up in a few weeks. A lot of them are visiting the other parent, the one they didn’t spend Christmas with.
