By the time everyone finished lunch, Andie thought she was going to be sick. She felt so good that she ate everything on her plate and some from Cody’s. But as it got closer to the time when she needed to announce her pregnancy, her body protested the food she ate.
Cody offered to tell everyone, but Andie knew she had to do it. She waited until her whole family had finished eating and were sitting around talking, most with a glass of wine, before she stood and tapped her knife on the side of her water glass.
“Hey everyone. I know Cody and I kind of took over the picnic last week. We’ve spent the week talking and planning, and we just spoke to Nonna. We’re going to get married in two weeks, on Nonna and Nonno’s anniversary.”
A chorus of cheers and congratulations rang out from her family
