Beth met Erin at the back door after lunch on Monday afternoon. She had a wild look in her eyes that put Erin on edge. “What’s wrong?” “Kenneth was looking for you. He said something about tickets for something and taking you with him. I figured you’d want a warning.” Erin rolled her eyes. “He knows I’m seeing Sean.” Beth nodded solemnly. “I know. He doesn’t seem to care. It’s weird because before Sean showed up for lunch, Kenneth barely gave you a second look.” “Tell me about it. There’s some weird rivalry between them. Sean made it sound like I should expect Kenneth to try to get between us.” “Seriously? I don’t know who I dislike more for that. Sean for making it sound like the only reason a man would want you is to get back at the other guy, or Kenneth for actually doing that.”
