Emilia and Liam had been spending more and more time together, and she couldn't help but feel a strong connection to him. They had gone on their sailing trip, and it had been everything she had hoped for and more.
But as they walked along the beach one evening, Emilia noticed that Liam seemed a bit distant. He was quiet and preoccupied, and Emilia couldn't help but wonder what was wrong.
As they stopped to watch the sunset, Liam turned to her with a serious expression. "Emilia, can I ask you something?" he said, his eyes narrowing slightly.
Emilia's heart skipped a beat as she wondered what he was going to ask. "Of course, what is it?" she replied, trying to sound calm.
Liam hesitated for a moment before speaking. "I've been noticing that you seem to be getting a lot of attention from the locals. People keep coming up to you and talking to you, and I was wondering... do you know something that I don't?"
Emilia's eyes widened in surprise. What was Liam talking about? She didn't know what to say, and before she could respond, Liam's phone rang.
He answered it, listening intently to the person on the other end. Emilia could tell that something was wrong, and she felt a sense of unease creeping over her.
As Liam hung up the phone, he turned to Emilia with a grim expression. "I have to go," he said abruptly. "Something's come up."
Emilia's heart sank as she watched Liam walk away. What was going on? And why did she get the feeling that something was off?
Emilia couldn't shake off the feeling that something was wrong. Liam had been acting strangely, and she couldn't help but wonder what was going on.
As she walked back to her bookstore, she noticed a piece of paper on the ground. She picked it up, expecting it to be a flyer or a brochure. But instead, it was a note, scribbled in hasty handwriting:
"Be careful around Liam. He's not what he seems."
Emilia's heart skipped a beat as she read the note. Who could have written this? And what did they mean?
She felt a shiver run down her spine as she wondered if she had misjudged Liam. Was he really the charming and kind person she thought he was?
As she looked around, Emilia realized that she was alone on the street. The sun was setting, casting long shadows across the pavement. She felt a sense of unease creeping over her, and she quickly hurried back to her bookstore, locking the door behind her.
As she leaned against the door, trying to catch her breath, Emilia couldn't help but wonder what was going on. Who was behind the mysterious note, and what did they want her to know?
