Chapter three

503 Words
Unconsciously, the first semester exams began. Richard, I, and the others are taking exams. Often caught my eye Richard looked pale. Sometimes he holds his stomach. It worries me. Honestly, I'm in love with him. But I refuse to say. Something crossed my mind, 'I can't like him. What if one day he's gone for good. I'll just be a broken heart and lonely.' But in the end I threw that thought away. I feel too selfish if I have to kill my feelings, just because I'm afraid that one day, he will leave me. So I decided to keep my heart for him, even though he might not have a heart for me. But I thought 'it doesn't matter'. Just being able to pour out my feelings as a good friend to him was more than enough. We have more than a week of testing. And now we are enjoying a relaxing time at school. That afternoon, Richard was playing basketball with his friends on the field. I watched him from above. He looks cool when he hits the ball into the ring. Before long, I finally got bored and went back to class and in class. I'm the only one there. The atmosphere outside the classroom was so lively, but for some reason I was not disturbed by it. I enjoyed the silence in the room. I sat on my bench, put my head on the folds of my hands, then closed my eyes. I started playing with my imagination. But then a voice called out to me. A voice I can't ignore. A voice so familiar to my ears. "Jeslyn?!" Immediately I turned to the door, in the direction of the voice. I was surprised, but then I smiled at Richard's presence. “Why are you alone here? Why not be with the others in the cafeteria?” "Don't like it.. I'd rather be alone like this?" I replied nervously, looking at his slightly pale face. “Oh, you like silence?” “Yes, I really like the calm and quiet atmosphere. You yourself, why did you stop playing?” "I was a little dizzy. But it seems to be getting better. Then I'll go first, shall I!" he said excitedly, though he didn't really look very good. Richard started walking towards the exit. But, suddenly his steps stopped. He held his stomach. He quickly sat down on a nearby bench and buried his head in the folds of his left hand. I quickly got up and approached him. “Richard!! What's wrong with you?" I asked worriedly. "Eh.." Richard didn't say anything. He just looked down and held his stomach. My tears flow. I can't stand to see him in pain. I'm afraid of losing him. He turned to me with a face as white as cotton. "Jeslyn.. Please, don't cry." "I'll call the teacher!" Before I could even move, Richard was already unconscious. I panicked. I rushed to call for help, and Rinchard was rushed to the hospital.
