The body lay prone, unresponsive. Through the doorway, Eva watched as faces turned towards her.
Swanson and Mo came back into the corridor.
“What happened, Eva?” asked Mo.
Stunned to silence, Eva tried to ask herself that same question. As hard as she searched for an answer, it eluded her. The only thing she knew was she was no longer afraid. Fear had evaporated. All she could say was the truth, as they would expect to hear it.
“Somebody… something spoke to me. I had a pain and collapsed. The voice went silent, and I felt better. Then your staff all burst past me. Isn"t that Gila Ciranoush"s assistant?”
Swanson appeared grim. “Yes, you are correct. Ali fell ill shortly after you, and we had him under observation here. Are you okay? Would you like to rest more?”
