“What’s this?”
“Jack! You’re home! Um. This. Well. It’s funny you should ask, actually. It was supposed to be a surprise.”
“Those are packing cases. Why are there packing cases in your house?”
“It’s because—”
“Are you moving away? Is that it? You’re leaving me? Just like that? Did you think you’d be gone by the time I got back from work tonight? You were trying to sneak away from me?”
“Babe, will you calm down, please. It’s the hormones talking again.”
“Oh, right. Every time I say something Mr. Scarypants doesn’t like, it’s the hormones talking! Can you be any less supportive? You can’t seriously be thinking about leaving me with our child all by myself!”
