RHYLEE POV
Rousing awake, trying to work out why my head feels like it is in a vice, I feel a familiar warmth, and that burning sensation on my skin again, its.... its..... Oh Goddess, ‘Mate!.....Mate!...... MATES!?!.’ My Wolf is sure about that I guess.
Sitting bolt upright I glance to each side of me to find both River and Ryder both smiling at me with knowing looks. They feel it too, they know. Wait? THEY KNOW! Oh Goddess, Oh Goddess, Oh Goddess.
A blush suddenly rising from my chest spreading across my face my heartbeat is taking on a new pace of its own, which is accompanied by the inability to catch my breath, causing shallow pants.
Oh, my Goddess their scents!
I have always been able to identify them by scent, but their combined scent is next level. River’s scent now smells like Sandalwood and Cedar, while Ryder’s now smells like Sandalwood and Oak, so much the same, but that is one small difference that only I can smell.
Finding myself completely lost in their scents, I don’t notice when they both move off the bed and wait for me to get my head straight.
“Oh, My Goddess!!!” I scream holding a hand over my chest. “Oh, My Goddess, we are MATES!!!” I squeal, jumping from the bed and bouncing on my toes. Both chuckling, moving closer wrapping their arms around me, I am giddy with excitement, although I really want to know what happened with the rogues.
I look up from our tri-hug moving my gaze between them. “What happened with the rogues?” I just know I am not going to get to ask dad, he has his walls up blocking me out, so the boys will have to spill. The last thing I remember is the darkness.
Clearing his throat, River begins. “Well, all the ones that attacked us were killed your dad was very clear about that, he won’t give them another chance ever again.
Slightly horrified, more at the fact that my mates, their father and mine all had to kill, kill for me, to get me back. I can only imagine how dad is feeling.
“And the ones that didn’t attack?” I ask, my voice full of trepidation. Well, they were offered safety at one of the compounds on the pack-lands. Your dad said they are welcome to join the community when they are ready.” River explained.
“So, what, does the cat got ya tongue?” I ask Ryder playfully. “NO!” His sharp, blunt answer made me pause, my face showing shock and sadness, Ryder leaned down looking into my eyes “Sorry Ley” and then he kissed me. That burning, well now it feels sparks and fire, they are incredible.
Taking me a little surprised, but I quickly relaxed into his hold, being rewarded with him deepening the kiss, now running his tongue over my lips seeking entry to my mouth, I tentatively open my mouth a little, he edges his way into my mouth, his tongue now freely exploring my mouth, I let a small satisfied moan to leave my mouth, that only seems to make him want me even closer.
Breaking the kiss, not that I really want to, but I do it none the less, “we need to go down to breakfast,” the smile that they shared was quickly explained, they had organised breakfast to be delivered to my, um....... nope, not my room, not theirs, but all our stuff is here, eeeekkkkk, it's ours.
After breakfast, making my way down to the living room to find dad and Jade are both already here, Jade’s smile is large and takes over her face, her eyes are gleeful and happy, and my father's smile is also large and full of mirth.
“You're looking better this morning.” Dad said looking at me proudly. Jade was a little more subtle, *I see your wolf has found her way to you, and you found,* her look becoming tentative, *your, mate.... mates?* choosing the mind-link but the mischievous wink that she added couldn't be linked not missed, just like the brows she raised and arched at me.
Again, I am left with my cheeks blooming red cheeks as the room erupts into laughter and River then sweeps me off my feet and into his arms, the proceeds to plop me down into my chair.
“My wolf has made her way to me, yes.” I say, my smile growing excitedly, although I still need to speak to Jade, I know I wanted to meet my mate, but TWO, TWO mates, what the hell?
Wanting to spend some time with my father and Jade, I mind-link the boys and ask for some time, I need it so that I can work out my head. Appreciatively they both nodded, kissed my cheeks and left the room.
Once they were gone and my head cleared a little, I really noticed the stupid smirk my dad was now wearing. “What is wrong with you?” I ask, scrunching my nose as if smelling something grose.
I could see dad and his wolf couldn’t help but chuckle. “Oh Goddess! You are soooooooooo annoying! First, they were the one’s with the goofy look, now it's you, by the way ...... eeeewwwww!” My playfulness causing Jade to laugh. “Don’t encourage him, silly girl, he will just get worse if you do.” Jade’s laughter now much louder.
With that my father jumped from his seat, pulling me to my feet before I could say anything else, wrapping me in his solid, and warm embrace, placing a kiss to my cheek before he releases me, turns to leave, waving, tossing a ‘talk later’ thrown over his should as the door clicks closed behind him.
Jade and I break into the most comfortable bout of laughter we have shared in a long while. When I managed to calm down, I looked up to meet Jade’s eyes, they looked hauntingly happy, but they are tarnished with such sadness and sorrow.
I move closer and take her hand. “We are not supposed to be crying, well unless it is from laughter, obviously!” With a roll of my eyes, I make it to my next sentence before we get sidetracked again.
“Jade, I know you are always here for me, and you are the closest I have to a mother, please know I love you dearly, with my whole heart. I feel like I get to know my mamma because you knew her and you are here with me all the time, so that said, would you to help me please?” I left my question hanging for a moment.
Jade’s eyes full of unshed tears, which glistened at the corners of her eyes, were watching me, looking at me like I have given her the best thing ever. “Okay, here goes,” I start, taking another breath I continue “I am so happy to have found my mate, well mates, but now I am scared, I don't think I ever in my wildest dreams thought I would have TWO MATES!” I finish before I can catch my breath again.
