CHAPTER EIGHT

RHYLEE POV

Dad and Uncle Ben needed River and Ryder for some reason, so with some time on my hands, I decided to try and talk to my wolf. I make my way to my old room, I feel like it the right place to be right now.

“HELLO? ARE YOU THERE?” speaking, well no more like yelling in my room, it feels somewhat empty now, and that’s proven by the slight echo at my loud tone.

*HELLO RHYLEE* came the response in my head, her voice is deeper, raspy and husky, but comforting, seeming to be almost as loud as me, causing me to wince slightly.

I let out a squeak and then smacked my hands over my mouth instantly.

Then there is a cheeky chuckle in my head, before she speaks again, *I am your wolf, my name is Rifka*

“Oh Wow! Oh, My Goddess, Hiya Rifka!” still very loud, “I have been waiting so long to meet you, oh, when, um, oh, oh, oh.” I cannot even form legible sentences, flustering over my words. My excitement causing my tongue to not co-operate how I want.

*Okay Rhylee, take a breath, breathe and relax a little, we can continue to talk, you can even talk to me in your head.* I can hear the amusement in her tone.

*Oh, goddess, this is a different feeling, to be able to talk to you in my head* I managed to finally put a sentence together! Yay! I said to myself, now laughing at myself, knowing poor Rifka will now be privy to ALL my thoughts.

Chuckling again Rifka continues *well, it is so good to finally be here, I am sorry it has taken so long but be sure the Moon Goddess would not make you wait for no reason. I already know you are an exceptional young she-wolf, and we have magical things to come in our future.* her tone is reassuring and gentle now.

*Wait! The Moon Goddess knows me? Knows who I am?* I ask in awe of the idea that the Moon Goddess even knows who I am.

*Ha, Ha, Ha, yes Rhylee, she knows who you are! She has been watching over us since before we were born.* hearing her say all this and her tone going from humorous to solemn, this reminding me momentarily that my sister and Mamma did not survive the day

.

*Hey Rhylee, don’t be sad, we both miss them, but I know Rhaine has always been with us. The Moon Goddess feels enough sadness for all of us, we need to think positive.* Rifka’s words making me feel more at peace for the moment.

*So Rifka, will we, I, us, we um transition now?* I couldn’t help ask, I need to know, okay, well I really, really, really, want to know. In truth I am terrified, but now I have my wolf and I know who my mate....sss are, I am still terrified about that too!

All these thoughts going through my head, I almost missed Rifka laughing, quiet heartily I might add, sort of hard to miss when its so loud in my head.

*Ummm, did I say something funny?* I asked her internally. Well not so much said, more thought! Rifka retorted still with a humorous hint to her words.

With a quick re-cap of my thoughts, I find myself suddenly blushing, I face-palm myself feeling a little embarrassed.

*It’s okay RHYLEE, don't be embarrassed, we will go through all of this together, and just to put your mind at ease, yes we will transition, but that won't happen until the Full Moon, and that is when River and Ryder will want to claim and mark us.* Rifka made me relax a little but then terrified me again.

Just as I was about to continue asking more questions we were interrupted, River and Rider bowl into the room, immediately trying to catch their balance with an attempt to look composed. Big goofy, sort of cute smiles on their faces.

“Hey Ley, whatcha doin?” Ryder asked his tone carrying a hint of melody, casually as he takes the few steps toward me, picking me up, making my tummy flutter and even making me feel a bit giddy after he twists in a circle with me in his arms.

He no sooner put me down so my feet touched the ground, and I am spun around and picked up again, this time I am spun in the other direction by River, “Ryzy baby!” he says before kissing me, unexpectedly. His kiss leaves me feeling lightheaded and slightly overwhelmed.

My feet back on the ground, but both boys standing so close has sparks running the sides of my body and my stomach is doing flip flops. “Heyyyy, you two, um, I’ve just been waiting for you to come back.” I say but not really sure what else to say.

“Well Dad and your dad wanted to discuss the Full Moon and what that means, and you know, blah, blah, blah!” Ryder finished waving off the rest of his words.

“Oh? That’s only a couple of days away, so what are they worried about? I ask, looking between the two of them.

The two of them smiling and brushing me off. Only frustrating me, I am getting tired of being left out of conversations. I’m not precious!

“REALLY?” I raised my voice, looking between them. Unfortunately for these two my temper is a bit too erratic at the moment and I can’t help myself and I order them out of my room, given that the two of them both at six feet seven inches next to my five foot three inches, I should be feeling slightly intimidated, but nope I do not!

“Both of you get out!” I yell stomping my foot, yep like a petulant child, when they still don’t look to move or leave I screamed at them “GET OUT BOTH OF YOU!”
