RHYLEE POV
“When this girl daydreams, she goes deep!” I hear Ryden say, as I drift back to awareness, taking notice of my surroundings again, River chuckling too before they take up residence right next to me, like I am a book and they are the book ends, it’s comfortable, but today I feel like I am suffocating.
Their bodies making me feel safe but also exhausted, but their body heat is comforting, but again I am feeling smothered, then I feel like their heat is too much. Urrgh!
Pushing against one of the hard, toned, bodies I try to get up from my position, but the boys are that close I don’t even have a chance. I must be insane but then both Ryden and River sit up looking at me with their weird goofy faces again.
“Guy’s give me some room!” I say as I struggle to right myself. Then I notice that when I push them anyway my hands are tingling, that’s new, so to see if it is a one-off, I manage to place my hand on each of their chests and both hands start burning, then tingling. I pull my hands back quickly not wanting to make a fuss, I say nothing, but they both smirk with dark eyes.
With a tingle spreading over my entire body, I scoot off the bed and head toward the bathroom. By the time I get in-front of the mirror my face is red, and my tummy is making its own waves. That has never been like that before, perhaps I am unwell, everything just seems off.
I mind-link Jade and ask her to come up to my room, so now all that is left is to get the two weirdo’s out of my room.
With A-LOT of pouting they finally left, and Jade was laughing at their reluctance and their moping down the hallway. They are so weird at the moment.
“Are they always like that?” Jade asks, her humour still present. I look at her, I know I am being unreasonable.
“NO! That’s just it, they are being real weirdo’s, but I need your help, but don’t tell dad.” I say with a plead to my tone.
Jade straightens a little then she looks at me, the worry deeply showing on her face. “What’s wrong Rhylee?” she asks, taking the few steps forward closing the distance between us.
“When I woke up from my snooze, they were as usual like bookends against me, but” then I pause to look at her and let her see my concern. She takes my hand and leads me to sit on the edge of my bed.
Continuing I go on “Well, I tried to push them away, and my hands felt like they were on fire, then they tingled, and when I when I could get up and away from them, my whole body is tingling, and I feel sick.” I finish and wrap my arms tighter around myself, before lifting my gaze back to hers.
“This woman is like, my friend, godmother, sister, aunt, all rolled into one, but right now I feel so vulnerable with her. “Well Rhy, I think your wolf may be closer than you think.” Her smile is getting larger, and I can feel her excitement.
“Okay, but the boys are like, I don’t know, they like burn me, why?” I know without a wolf present I won’t know what all these things mean, and everyone says their mates make their skin feel electric when they touch.
“I don’t think you really need to worry; I think when your wolf presents things will go back to a normal.” she explains.
I give her reluctant smile wishing I could crawl back into bed but today is debate preparations and I need to be there.
“Thanks, I will be down shortly I will just get dressed and come down for breakfast.” I hug her and smile quickly moving to find my clothes and dress.
Walking from my bathroom fixing a clip into my hair I don’t even notice the boys standing either side of the bathroom door, waiting for me.
I really don’t notice them when I feel them, behind me, I spin stopping them in their tracks. I look at them, they are both looking at me with surprise. “Stop! You both have to back up!” I snap at them for startling me.
“Rhy’s, you” River starts to say as I stop him, silencing him as Ryder continues ‘Your eyes!” he says very abruptly. My face must show irritation and surprise, I spin heading toward the mirror on the wall, when I look, they look normal to me. I shake my head, turn, then grabbing my bag and leaving my room in a heat of irritation.
Breakfast has me brooding and quiet, keeping myself, well that was until my father weighed in, making his way around to my side of the table, where he proceeded to pull me from my chair to give me a hug, then he grasped my face and looked deeply at my eyes.
My annoyance growing, I growl, this time not just in my head but out loud. My father’s face flashing from ready to bite my head off to a split second later smiling like a jackal.
“Get off me!” I shrug, managing a hint of a smile at him. Letting me go he steps back then moves to his seat next to Jade.
I turn back to the table, glaring at River and Ryder for telling dad, but they are now sitting with their mouths hanging open like they are catching flies, their mouths gaping so wide.
I decided to grab something to eat on the way to school, it took the boys moments to get their ability to move back, their clambering footsteps quickly gaining on me.
Before we even managed to get to school, I had had another disagreement with River, Ryder this time keeping quiet and just observing me. We haven’t even made it to school when the driver advised my father was requesting us to return home. Looking at the boys puzzled, they don’t seem to be any wiser, but we all just accept the change in plans.
The car slowing down to turn when another vehicle hit us from behind. River and Ryder both grabbed for me to pull me beside them for protection. Their wolves are suddenly present and ready to fight.
Hearing a voice calling my name just outside the car, it’s a voice I don’t recognise, then Ryder opens the door launching out transitioning into his wolf, immediately ripping into the wolves and whoever else is involved, as River kept me behind him, his thought to transition and for me to climb on his back to run home, before he made it from the car his body slum[ped on the floor right in front of me.
“Aaaaaaarrrrrrrrrghhhhhhhhh!!” a scream leaving my mouth as arms grab me pulling me from the vehicle, before I can get my balance a cloth that smells like chemicals is across my face and then before I know it, darkness swallows me.
