The lady's words brought me back to my senses. Releasing her, she slumped on the ground as she coughed violently.

I have never been a violent person so what came into me just now?

I should have known that the lady must have been provoking her so that I could attack her.

But why would she do that?

" I'm warning you , stay away from me. The next time we see each other, I won't be as polite." I delivered my warning before walking away with every intention to leave the crazy woman alone before she infects me with her rabies.

" You will never qualify to be the twins' mate. I will always remain their wife and true mate." The lady said, making me halt in my steps.

I thought that I heard it wrong or perhaps my ears were playing tricks on me.

Walking back to her, I lifted her from the ground roughly.

" What did you just say?" I needed to confirm if I heard the right thing.

I watched as the woman smiled mockingly at me.

" You heard me right. The twins are my husbands. We have been married for years so don't think that being their mate makes you their wife. I am their first love and nobody can take my place in their lives."

I felt my heart constrict painfully and for a moment, even breathing seemed to be a hard task.

I felt my tears threaten to fall but I held them back. There's no way I am going to give her the pleasure of seeing me cry.

I felt my insides churn just imagining Theo and Mason doing to another woman what they do to me.

" You must be crazy!" With that I threw her down before walking away.

The tears I had fought so hard to restrain finally spilled like a broken river.

The pain of betrayal from the two people I trusted the most hurt like a b***h.

Despite knowing that I should probably wait until I confront my mates about what the lady just said, I could not help the pain.

Without knowing exactly where I was going, I continued to walk,my tears blurring my vision.

My body crashed into something or rather someone before I felt warm hands circle my waist.

" Oh gosh Melissa, what's wrong with you? Are you crying?" The voice recognized as Tamia asked.

" Of Course you are crying. What kind of a stupid question is that?" Tamia answered her question.

" The last time I see you, you are in a hurry to leave and when I see you again, you are crying?" She said, I could feel the concern in her voice and that just made me cry even more.

" Did something happen to you? Did someone bully you? Tell me the person and I will whip their asses until they can't sit anymore." Tamia continued mumbling words as she rubbed my back.

Her actions coupled with words made me feel better.

Pulling away, I used the sleeve of my shirt to blow my nose and wipe my tears.

" Oh dear, you look like a mess." Tamia commented.

She did not need to say it though, I could tell that I was a walking mess.

" What really happened?" Tamia asked me after helping me sit at the edge of a rock.

The cold evening breeze from the lake below blew past me, caressing my cheeks, making goosebumps rise.

" It's beautiful here," The view was so beautiful, especially with the setting sun casting its rays to the calm water.

It was a scene to behold.

" Of course it is beautiful. I only interact with beautiful things." Tamia boasted about making me smile.

Yeah, that's Tamia for you.

She is such a lovable soul.

Too bad she is a lesbian and I am straight. Otherwise, I would have dated her.

" Tell me the truth Tamia, Theo and Mason were married, right?" I could see Tamia tense at my words making me confirm that the lady was not lying at all.

" Oh dear, who told you that?" Tamia asked with a frown.

" I met the lady today and she told me." I answered honestly.

" Bianca that b***h! She can't stomach that she was left and wants to ruin things for the Alpha's." Tamia cursed.

" What else did She tell you? That woman is full of lies. You should not believe what she says." Tamia said in a panicked voice.

" But she didn't lie to me, right? She was married to them. What hurts most is the fact that they never saw the need to tell me. I had to find out from someone else. They made me look like a fool." I cried, a fresh bout of tears kissing my cheeks.

" Oh dear. If they did not tell you that's because it's important." Tamia said.

" You are just defending them. Maybe the reason they did not tell me was because I am nothing to them . I don't deserve to know anything about them." I allowed my tears to slide down, washing my tears.

" I know the twins have a reason why they did not tell you. You should calm down and go talk to them Instead of speculating here." Tamia advised but with the pain I was feeling, I was afraid the last thing I wanted to do was see my mates.

" No, I want to be alone tonight and perhaps with some alcohol." I said.

" I'll accompany you." Tamia offered before helping me up.

Tamia drove us to a club miles away from the pack. Knowing my mates, they will be pissed but at this point I don't care anymore.

How could they keep something so important from me?

Don't I mean anything to them?

Or am I that insignificant in their lives?

Those are the questions that have been plaguing my mind and just thinking about makes me wanna shout my lungs out.

I feel betrayed and used.

" We are here. Remember, don't wander away from me. You are new here and the guys would want to take advantage of that." Tamia warned me but I did not bother to consider his words.

Come to think of it, it would be fun fooling around without having to think about those two.

" I don't care about that. I trusted them, didn't they also take advantage of my Love to hide things from me?" I replied.

If they can take advantage of me and expect me to be fine with it, why can't I allow others to do that to me.

" Mel, I Know you are angry at them but please sweetheart,you know I love you, right? I don't want to watch you make a mistake with your life. Don't do something that you would regret later." Tamia pleaded with me.

She loves me and I love her too but nothing is going to stop me from having fun tonight.

I don't want her to worry so I decided to agree with her.

" Alright, I understand. You don't have to nag me." I said, rolling my eyes at her.

I have a feeling I am going to have the night of my life so why spoil it by talking about such irrelevant things and topics?

I have lost myself since I got together with Theo and Mason.

Tonight, it will be about me. I will have fun with my best friend and forget about the troubles, the lies, the deceit and betrayal.

I'll just be happy.

" I have to take care of you, otherwise those twins will kill me if something happens to you." Tamia said and the mere sound of their name pisses me.

" Don't mention them to me. I really don't want to hear about them." I whined and the look Tamia gave me told me I am being ridiculous but can you blame me?

They gave me a reason to dislike their guts.

" They are your mates at the end of the day. No matter how pissed you are at them, it won't be the fact that they Love and care about you. You also can't live without them, trust me." Tamia said.

She sounded so confident that it annoyed me.

But she was right. No matter what, they are my mates, my soulmates and with the mating bond activated, there's no way I will be able to escape them.

I will always go back crawling to them. Thinking about it makes me want to vomit blood.

" Just stop talking about them already." Annoyed, I walked to the club.

The club was crowded with everyone having fun in their own style.

" Wait Mel, I'm sorry. Let's forget about them and get wasted." Tamia yelled through the music and I smiled.

" Yay, let's get wasted tonight." I yelled back before settling at a chair near the counter.

" What can I get you ladies?" A waiter dressed in black and white approached us with a smile on his face.

He was looking all handsome with his unruly wavy hair and deep forest eyes.

When he smiled, I noticed he had a dimple on his right cheek adding more to his handsomeness.

" Earth to Melissa! It's rude to stay! Besides, wipe that drool off your mouth." Tamia shouted , snapping me from my trance.

The guy was an eye candy so you cannot blame me for staring, okay?

" He's hot and desirable!" I commented, making the Young man blush.

" You are unbelievable!" Tamia Said, shaking her head.

" What can I get you ladies?" The waiter asked.

" Fruity cocktail for me." Tamia ordered.

" Why don't you surprise me tonight? Make it something good and delectable like you," I said when the waiter turned to look at me.

The poor guy left with a red face.

I felt a burning stare and I didn't need to look to know that Tamia was watching me.

" What?" I snapped at her with a mischievous smile on my face.

Oh the night was getting started and I was already having so much fun!

" I never knew that you were a flirt! I think you ain't the only one getting surprised tonight. I'm surprised and impressed." Tamia said, making me smile.

I was never like this before because I was always committed to my work and having to keep the perfect image of a police officer.

As a result, I Lost myself and became too reserved.

Now, I can unleash who I truly am because nothing is holding me.

No face to keep nor mates to be worried about.

" There's a lot you don't know about me actually." I said with a grin.

Yes, there's so much I have kept hidden and tonight, I'll be myself and reveal the real me.

The waiter returned with a tray holding two glasses.

Tamia was handed a green coloured drink while mine was pink.

" This is our magical drink. It keeps you inebriated but not actually drunk." The waiter explained.

" Good boy, find me later. I'll give you a kiss,"I winked at the poor boy and he ran away.

" You are scaring the poor boy," Tamia giggled, making me smile.

" He is just being shy." I replied before taking a sip of my drink.

I closed my eyes, letting the drink wash away the pain and cleanse my heart.

I could taste faint alcohol and a sweet aftertaste.

" He is cute though but not mature enough." Tamia commented, making me c**k my brows at her.

" Don't tell me you have…"

" Gosh, no!" Tamia yelled, making me burst out laughing.
