The Proposal

Damon and Christi decided to go out for breakfast. They arrived at Starbucks, which was walking distance from his condo. They placed their orders and waited for the barista to call them to pick up their order. After picking up their order. They went to the outdoor sitting area where they could talk a little more and clear the air. Damon said. I saw you with Richard last night, and I got super jealous. So, I went out drinking and one thing led to another and that is when you saw me. Vince came by my place last night and explained the entire situation to me. I don't know if I would have been able to forgive you if you slept with another woman. I don't think I would have been able to do that in the end. You owe Vince, big time. He saved your butt.

Christi, go out with me tonight. I will have Vince take you shopping for a dress and shoes, and he will also take you to have your hair styled and your nails done. Think of it as a spa day. I will take care of all the arrangements. Christi responded that it was not necessary. Damon said, Please let me do this. I want to make this day and the evening special for you. I am going to plan the best evening of your life. Just say yes. She finally gave in and shook her head. He got up from his seat and placed a call to Vince. I need you to take Christi shopping. I will send you a text with the information on where to take her. Damon called his mom and told her what he was planning. She told him to have them meet me at my favorite boutique and leave the rest to me. He said thanks mom. I love you, she said," I love you too, and they hung up.

That afternoon, Damon was busy getting the preparations ready for the wonderful evening he had promised Christi. Christi was excited. She has never been pampered like this before. She felt like a princess. Damon's mom said get used to it, being with Damon means going to different functions, business dinners, and balls. She was speechless. She helped Christi pick the most beautiful dress, matching shoes and purse. Next stop was her hair, make-up and nails. After they were done, Christi felt like Cinderella was going to a ball to meet her prince charming. A limousine came to Christi's house at about seven pm. The driver stepped out open the back door and out came Damon looking dashing in his suit. Damon walked to the front door and knocked. When Christ opened the door and saw Damon, she was astonished. Damon, on the other hand, looked at Christi and said, You look breathtaking.

He gave Christi his arm and she gladly took it. The driver held the door open for them. Damon helped Christi in the car, and he went to the other side to get in. We went to have dinner at a beautiful and most fancy restaurant I have ever been to too, and after, we went on a Horse Drawn carriage ride around the city. It was spectacular. Then we went to James Turrell Twilight Epiphany Skyspace. That is where the magic happened. Damon went down on one knee, my hand flew to my mouth. He opened a black velvet box with the most beautiful ring I have ever seen. Damon started, Christi, ever since I met you, you have made me a better version of myself. You make me laugh without even trying. You have become my best friend, my soulmate. I can't imagine my life without you. Would you make me the happiest man and be my wife.

Christi could not contain herself with excitement. She was so happy. Yes, yes, I will marry you. Damon placed the ring on her finger, then stood up and gave her the most passionate kiss he had ever given her. That night, they spend the rest of the evening at the Hotel Za Za Houston Museum District. Christi was in awe when she entered the lobby. It was just spectacular. Damon had arranged for clothing to be sent to the room for both Christi and himself. She was going to have the experience of her life.

After three long days of being treated like a queen, Christi came home. Now she had to plan a wedding and find a dress. Christi and Damon's mom spent countless weeks together finding the perfect dress. We decided on the AG Outdoor Venue. The menu and invitations were sent out. All we needed was dress. Finally, at the tenth bridal store there it stood the perfect dress. I quickly tried it on and a few alterations later it was a perfect fit. I bought my shoes, veil, garter. I looked at Damon's mom and said we were done. I have everything I need. She said, You are missing one more thing. I said, what is it? She smiled and said, Come with me. She whispered something in the attendant's ear and she smiled. She looked at Damon's mom and said. I will be right back.

She came back with wedding lingerie. I gasped. She looked at me and said, no wedding shopping is complete without lingerie. I blushed. She asked, Do you have any lingerie? I said no. She told me you need to get more than one, I laughed. We had lunch afterward, and she took me home so I could get some rest. I was getting married in a week. I just could not believe it, me, little old me, was getting married to the man of my dreams. I asked Jerri to be my Man of Honor and excitedly said yes. He was so happy I included him in all my plans. I told him I would not have it any other way. Jerri has been my rock, my best friend for years and has always stood by me no matter what. When everything happened to me, he was there to listen to all my problems and gave me his shoulder to cry on. I love you Jerri. I love you too, Christi. I want you to know you will have to give a speech at the wedding. He looked at me and said, I have been writing my speech even before you asked me to stand with you.

A week fast passed by and, before you know it, I was in my dress and getting ready to walk down the aisle. Jerri came to my room and said it was time. I got up and walked over to him. He gave me his arm, which I gladly took. Jeri walked me down the aisle and I just could not take my eyes off Damon. He looked so handsome. When I arrived at the altar, he whispered. I love you, I said," I love you too. The ceremony went without a hitch. The ceremony was absolutely gorgeous. Damon whispered in my ears while we were having our first dance, I can't wait to get you out of this dress. I smiled. Damon's parents gave us a house for our wedding gift. That night was the best night of my life. The next day, Damon took me to Paris for our honeymoon. We spent three glorious weeks there.

One year later, we found out that we were expecting. We were so overjoyed. Damon's parents were excited to be grandparents. Damon's mom took me shopping to get everything prepared for the arrival of our baby. She prepared a nursery at her home as well, so when the baby came over she would have a place for it. Damon was involved in the entire process of getting our nursery at home ready for our baby. Damon spoiled me. While I was getting fat, he made sure to remind me every day how much he loved me. He rubbed my tummy and spoke to the baby, even read to the baby. He read in What to expect when you are expecting that if you read to the baby when it is in the womb, it helps them recognize their parents' voices, promotes early language development, and fosters emotional bonding. He was taking his role as a father very seriously. If someone had told me this was the way Damon the Mafia king would be during my pregnancy, I would not have believed them. However, he has proved that he is going to be a very good father.

Nine months later, I gave birth to a bouncing baby boy who we named Dylan. Dylan was 7 lb, 21 inches long and healthy. Damon and I had a happy life. When Dylan turned seven years old, we gave birth to our second child. It was a girl. We let Dylan name his baby sister Kathleen, but we eventually decided to call her Katie. She is our princess. She was 7 pounds 8 ounces. 21 inches long. However, our biggest baby was our last little boy, who entered into the world four years later at 8 pounds, 21 and a half inches long. We are truly blessed. I found the man of my dreams and we have three beautiful children. Seven years later, Damon and I are still madly in love with one another. He still tells me he loves me every day. Damon taking my luggage by accident was the best thing that would have happened to me.
