Memories
Moon woke up with a start. The screams still echoed in Moon's fogged mind. Heart racing, face damp with sweat. She tried hard to
remember that night. But as usual, the nightmare was unclear. Sitting up, she drew her knees to her chest. And began
crying silently. It had been almost nine years since the accident. She was still haunted by the memories. Moments later, a knock
came to the door. Turning toward it, she began wiping her face. Swinging her legs over the edge of the bed, she got up. "Coming!"
But the knocking was persistent. "Coming!" She yelled. Snatching open the door, she was met by a familiar face. Her face, looking
at her with concern. Sun was Moon's twin sister. From the moment their mother laid eyes on them. She was reminded of the sun and
moon. Sun took after their father in looks. Light hair that glistened like the sun and dark eyes. And Moon took after their mom. Jet
black hair and Pewter eyes. Both girls shared shoulder-length hair and both are athletic. Petite frames, with long lean legs. That's
where the similarities ended. Sun was outgoing and popular, everyone loved and adored her. Moon was labeled the rebel. She was
hated by their pack. Moon was blamed for the alpha and Luna's death. The pack had no choice but to tolerate her, due to them. She
knew they were counting the days until she found her mate. Little did they know she had no intentions. Next week, on Moon's and
Sun's eighteenth birthday and the day of the Wolf Ball. She was leaving the pack for good. "Oh, stop looking at me like that, Sun."
Moon snapped." Well fine, hurry up before you make us late again. Sun said". As she headed toward the door. Sun hesitated. Moon
noticed. Look, I'm okay Sun? Sun just looked at her. Moon softened her tone. I'm okay. Give me ten minutes and I'll be ready. She
nodded her head and closed the door behind her softly. She was making her way through the house down to breakfast, when she ran
into Elizabeth. They collided in the hall. " Hey!" Elizabeth exclaimed. When she saw who it was, she rolled her eyes. Some beasts
really need to watch where they're going. Moon just ignored it. She, Elaine, and Elizabeth were the best of friends. A few years after
her parents passed, Elizabeth changed. She started acting funny with Moon. She started acting like she didn't exist for the longest
time. But lately, she has been acting like she hates her. Moon decided to eat breakfast alone in the kitchen. She wasn't in the mood,
because of the snickers behind her back. Elaine's mom came into the kitchen. "Good morning, dear." She spoke. " Good morning.
Elaine's mom treated her like a daughter. Good morning. She was grabbing a cup, and looked over Moon. "Are you alright?" She
asked. You look rather tired. Yes Mrs. Thomas. "Bye," Moon said. As she got up and made her way out of the kitchen. She foun
Moon and they headed to school. Alpha Storm left earlier than usual. He slept fitfully. Unfortunately, he was the first one in the
office this morning. He made his way to his office. Once inside, he plopped down on his seat. Twirling around, he faced the picture
window, overlooking downtown Snowridge. It was a beautiful sunny morning, not a cloud in the sky. Birds tweeted and chirped
outside. But his thoughts were elsewhere. He started out the window, with a pained expression. As thoughts of her took hold. She
was beautiful, with the gentlest soul. She was his mate, always knew what to do to make him smile. With a smile that always melted
his heart. Every day she'd greet him with a hug after a long day. She'd run into his arms, like a big kid all smiles. He smiled at the
memory. Suddenly, dark thoughts of holding her in his arms as she slipped away. The fear in her eyes. That left him feeling helpless.
He couldn't do anything. With all the power he possesses as an alpha, but powerless to save her. As she slipped away, taking
Everything is good and pure with them. Along with his heart… His smile faded, and a lone tear slid down his cheek. He wiped it
away. Turning away from the window, and the memory. He slammed his fist down on the desk. His sister Sara, and the receptionist
should be with her by now. He reached over and pressed the intercom. Sara? Nothing. He pressed it again, still no answer. He sighed
and walked over to the door and pulled it open. At the same moment, his cell phone vibrated in his pocket. Snatching it out of his
pocket. He put it to his ear. Hello?! He barked into the phone. Sorry Alpha Storm, there was an accident on the freeway. Traffic was
all but stopped. I'm like five minutes away. The files are on my desk, you have a meeting at nine… She paused. And try and have a
good day. Bye! She hung up before he could reply. Smiling, he shook his head. He still found it unbelievable, how she seemed to
read his mind. Even as a child, she acted more like a mom than an older sister. She is a protector. As a child, he was smaller than
average. So, bullying came with the territory. She'd come to his rescue every time. The other children learned very quickly that he
was off-limits. True to her word, five minutes later she walked through the door. Cheerfully, she said good morning to Storm. As she
made her way to their equipment room, she came back wheeling a cart, she went into the break room. Grabbing refreshments. She
headed to the conference room. She placed the refreshments on a table, along with napkins, and spoons. Next, she places the folders
containing the business meeting's agenda. Storm was sitting at the head of the table looking over the file. She went out and came
back a few minutes later. The group has arrived. Would you like me to show them? He nodded. Once again, she disappeared outide
the door.
