Storm hurriedly got up off the couch. Reaching down, he easily pulled Moon up as well. He helped her quickly redo her buttons. Grabbing her hand, he made his way back to the kitchen with her. They set back down at the counter with their food. The front door was opened, and everyone was talking about the ball. Sara and a small group of the pack came in the kitchen. Hi's went around. Sara paused for a moment when she noticed Moon's appearance. Hair tousled, lips slightly swollen and looking flushed. Walking around, she got a look at storm. He looked guilty. She said nothing, just stood there drinking a glass of water. Moon was the first to leave. Sara noticed Storm watching her leave longingly. A few minutes later, so did the small group. Sara made her way over and set down right in front of storm. And stared at him until he looked up. He looked up, but refused to make eye contact. "Storm?" She said in a gentle voice. Yeah. Look, I'm not mom or dad. So I wont going to lecture you. But, I'll say this though . I've also grown to love Moon. She's confided in me, she's been through a lot. And if your intentions are not good. Leave her alone. She's much to fragile right now. With that, she got up and left him alone in the kitchen. Storm just set there dumbfounded. He had no intentions at all. Things just got out of control. But she's his second chance mate. He couldn't believe it. Moon was in bed thinking, what really just happened. Storm her mate. She kicked her heels against the bed in excitement. She felt like a kid in a candy store. You reached over and turned out the lamp on the bedside table. She lay there smiling at the events of the night. Until sleep claimed her, as she drifted into dreams of Storm. Storm had left earlier than usual. Moon did not want to admit it, but she was a little disappointed. There was also the matter of getting her car. She hadn't spoken to anyone since she'd left. Not even Elaine. "Well let's get it over with." She said to herself. She got out her phone and dialed Elaine's number. She picked up on the second ring. "Moon?" Elaine asked. "Yes" Moon said. Oh my God! We've been so worried about you. Sun was balling her eyes out, when you left. I'll talk to her soon. But I need you to do me a favor. What is it? "Anything for you bestie." Elaine said. But first why haven't I heard from you? Let's meet at that little out of the way diner on Maze road, in an hour. Elaine agree and said good bye. Moon made it there first. When she saw Elaine, they smiled and embraced for a quick hug." I've missed you like crazy, why haven't you called me? Well I'd been in an accident. I fell off a cliff running from another pack. Elaine's eyes grew wide. I am okay and safe. I'm unsure of their name. Moon thought to herself, I hate lying to her but… I woke up at the bottom of that cliff. Where have you been all this time? A bed and breakfast. They spoke for a while longer, said their goodbyes and left. Elaine stood there waving goodbye, as Moon pulled off. She wondered why Moon was lying to her. Elaine was hurt, but she shrugged her shoulders. In time she knew Moon would share. She also decided not to tell Sun about Moon's accident. She'd just worry more. She made her way home. Sara and Moon walked into the house together. After they got settled, she made her way to Moon's room. She knocked softly. "Come in." Moon said. "Hey!" Sara said as she entered the room. Moon waved. I haven't seen you all day. I'm just making my rounds around the house. Moon nodded. I just went out to see my bestfriend and get my car. "So how was the ball last night." Moon asked. "It was nice." Sara already knew what was coming next. Any luck with your Mate? Sara somberly shook her head. Moon reached out and threw her arms around her. "I'm sorry." Hang in there." Sara gave a weak smile and nodded her head. Over the years, she'd seen werewolf after werewolf find a mate and live happily ever after. Tears stung her eyes at the thought. Her parents going on a long business trip was just the distraction she needed. She acted as a Luna while her mom was gone, and as a second mom to Storm and Drake. Plus she threw herself into her work. It lessened the sting of being alone. But enough about me she said. What about you and Storm? Moon's eyes grew wide. Sara acted like she heard a noise turning her head, so Moon did not see her giggle at her reaction. It is okay Moon, you're both adults. Okay, can you keep a secret? "Sure." Sara said. We just kiss. It just happened. Sara smiled at Moons innocence. "I'm heading downstairs to see what is for dinner tonight." Sara said. I'm starving. I'll see you later. Getting up, she left out and closed the door. Moon touched her lips remembering last nights heated kiss. Her body ached just thinking about his hardness pressing against her. She knew she wanted him to be her first. She'd saved herself for her mate. She smiled at the thought. The Alpha Storm was her mate. As she was sitting there, another knock came at the door. Yes?!. Come in. Storm opened the door stepped inside and closed it. Moon's heart beat speeded up. She wondered if he knew how sexy he is. I just needed to see… you. I mean want to. I'm sorry about last night. I did not mean to lose control like that. Moon didn't hide her disappointment. Wow! He regretted our kiss last night. She thought to her self. It is okay, no need to apologize. Moon faked a yawn. I see you're tired, I'll leave you alone then." Storm said. Moon looked at the closed door. Storm stood looking at the closed door. He saw the disappointment in Moon's eyes. He guessed she regretted what they did. His shoulders slumped down and he walked away.
