Vladislav switched to Nuicun when he took notice of the way Rafael kept staring at Cilla. It sounded like a chastisement, but the bald vampire raised his hands as if he was trying to show how harmless he was. Neither of the women were fooled. They stared at the two vampires as they continued to talk amongst themselves.
It carried on for much longer than either of them cared for. Allegra did not particularly want to converse with Rafael, but having so much said in her presence that she did not understand was not ideal either. She noticed a scowl starting to form on Cilla’s face in response to being left out and glared daggers at her friend to try to get her to school her expression better.
