In a flash a sign of alarm rushed in him when he heard those roars from the distance. Their shadows become large passing those houses as if they have detected their prey. “
“Sh*t!” He panicky pulled his weapon. He searched for his master, only to find out that he already is in one of the houses’ roofs. A wide, mocking smile and sticking a tongue out afterwards was shared to him to tease. Ashton rolled his eyesight in exhaustion and irritatingly run on his own to his base.
The Howard Organization is located at the east, where they have secured a well-known mansion where a prestigious family had resided before but were killed by a person and not by the bush. Ashton remembered everything as his leaps became dry and heavy, because he’s the one responsible for their deaths – hired to eliminate them whole in return for a good pay and to make him a ghost for those officers that were searching for him. He shook and tried to bury the memory again and now he doesn’t want to turn his head. He basically knows what is behind him and it would just make him conscious and might slow him down. He heard the man laugh for good as he enjoyed the view of him being chased.
“Run free, my darling.” He told him so as he leapt on the roof as if heights are not a matter for him. He sat in the middle of the rood and let him do the thing. He turned and faced him. Ashton raised his middle finger at him and gave him his stare, hoping that he would melt.
His relationship with his master is something that he’s proud of. Despite of their positions, they treat each other fairly and as brothers. Alejandro is the one who took him out of his comfort zone and got him into peril, loaded missions for him to enjoy. Shedding blood is his main course and his hands have been tainted for a long time since then.
A hand suddenly pulled him, only to find out that it was one of those infected. Their eyes were full of craving. Most of them are still newly exposed to the bushes' flowers. Now they are in their first stage where they're longing for food and they could feel thirsty most of the time. It is an old woman who caught him. Her right ear went missing as well as some of her fingers. Her comrades have joined her and now they're pulling Ashton with them to their hideout.
It creeps him out to know that they're still conscious and they are willing to kill him to have some food. He's waiting for Alejandro to help him out but instead, a hell had flung from the distance. He's not going to help him and rather would wait to finish.
They are currently three to kill for Ashton. His looks changed when he had pulled his hair that was covering his left eye where he got that scar. Swaying his arm in his most flexible and comforting way, his knife had struck like a thunderbolt to the woman's neck. Blood squirted in a split second and the woman fell.
Ashton grabbed the man on his shoulder but this time he is thinking. He's more intelligent than the two. Stepping aside, he raised his fists to battle.
"Lower them and I would let you live." He told him so but the man had continued and seemed not to hear him at all. The other girl who's beside him had jumped and embraced herself on Ashton's waist. She had glued herself on him.
"D*mnit. Why it has to be me!" He yelled in annoyance. Activating his berserk mode, little did he know that his master had already lowered himself and is just standing in the corner.
For Alejandro it is a test for Ashton to flourish himself. He wanted him to be so strong that he could fight a bare somehow. His thoughts and ambition are fueling him.
"Just help me over here will you." Ashton asked him out.
"You can do it." He answered back as he checked his fingertips.
"Tsk-"
Ashton didn't see it and a full hand had landed on his face. The man had already started his attack and the girl is still holding unto his back and suddenly bit his left ear.
"A-Argh! G-Get out of me, you freak!" With his might, he grabbed her by the leg and forcibly yanked her off.
The man continued to beat him. He could say that his fists are way too heavy and they have the impact to hurt him; assuming that the man had undergone training in boxing before. The girl flew to the side, rolling a few. She hit her head hard on a rock as well as her back. Though it had surely hurt her, her expression is grey and she didn't let him see her in pain. He wiped off his bleeding ear and now he could understand why the one had lost her ear too because her ally had taken it off to chew. She sneered and unexpectedly yelled like a siren, echoing her voice around the place.
Just before she could close her mouth a blade with the shine of light landed on her nape and swiftly her head had rolled to the ground, eyes widely opened.
"Tsk. I hate loud people. I dealt with this, now do your part and get rid of that giant." He calmly said which made Ashton to smile and got the vibe to fight.
In a flash his movements changed. He moved in different directions around the man. He's much smaller than his size that it gave him the hard time to catch him off as he's darting like a mouse. As he changed his steps, he gave him those sharp wounds, deep and solid, up until he couldn't stand when he had hit him hard on his ankles. The scenery is so familiar to him as most of his victims have experienced it before. Before he could end his breath, he heard the giant said his last words.
"L-let me rest." He pleaded.
He stared at him for a while and in a flick, he had fulfilled his wish.
